Demi being mistreated by label/team why?

Featured Replies

Island managed tmylm era pretty amazingly, but after the grammys/super bowl gigs, the promo and everything went downhill, what happened? Last album had no proper single, no radio, no playlisting, mhln mv was supposed to come out, it didnt happen, the era lasted a week,  now no tth, a very small playlist reach compared to other releases, is island still bankrupt, whats going on? They put a lot of their energy to promote shawn mendes though, like he had a nr. 1 position on tth with his last single, and always has great playlisting and promo while demi…

No #1 singles, no #1 albums, no smash hits, multi platinum albums, big tours, she wasn't even that big in fashion or social media, she was always a solid b-lister which is fine, especially considering

I kinda have a feeling Demi career and view of the peak is similar to Pink career. I think theres always gonna be interest/buzz and Demi talent can ride that wave of ups and downs. i think another pea

Like Shawn Mendes whose latest singles flopped despite getting good playlisting?

Which is? Lmao not shawn for sure

Demi is not being mistreated. She released a basic radio fodder track that follows the current trend and delivers nothing new. On top of that her appearance these days and especially her image with that weird alien talkshow and especially the froyo situation ruined what was left of her what was crumbling. On top of that her last album made zero noise and didn’t have any impact.
Island is simply not believing in her. And most probably also not in the material. She should be lucky that she has a core fan base and that her name is already out there. Otherwise her albums would get pushback after pushback.

But Demi has always been quite lucky with her singles as she tends to have grower songs like GYHAB and SNS. So maybe she’ll receive a semi hit or sth. But she needs to stop turning herself into a laughingstock.

Excuses excuses, shawn mendes last album flopped as well, yet he still gets good treatment from his label and team, demis last album did pretty well despite literally not being promoted at all even outsold shawns last album as well, somt is no basic radio fodder, you are deaf if you think so, how many songs on the radio now sound like somt lmao? Last years drama has nothing to do with it, the label has to do its job, they believe on shawn even if he keeps flopping every time but not in demi who does pretty well despite having not even half the promo….lets hope they will give somt more playlisting in time since the album is coming in 2 months and hopefully its a grower but dont discredit demis material and potential because it is there

I think their label is in charge of digital promotion on streaming platforms etc, hence why they don't playlist the singles, but her management team is in charge of traditional promo, hence why they're performing the song on TV. That's the only explanation I can think of!

shawn latest single was not #1 on tth :rip: he did have playlisting tho. I guess the label just doesn't believe in demi

It’s very clear Demi is not a priority for them or profitable. If you Look at the current tour it’s barely selling & this is a theater.

Just not taken seriously at all. i can see this being the last era for a while or being dropped.

Well her last album had no hit worthy songs so it was pointless to invest money into something that had virtually 0 commercial appeal.

This new single is okay , but again , doesn't sound like a hit nor it's infectious so I don't see why her label would want to spend more money.

How is it almost two weeks of pre orders when the album was announced 5 days ago :deadbanana4:

They must think she/they is/are irrelevant nowadays and not worth investing with such an awful song.

Like, Miley/Halsey already did this rock gimmick two years ago. Think of something else for once.

Maybe they just don’t like her anymore since she became messy and troublesome

Demi isn’t the type of Recording Artist worth an investment because she isn’t a revenue bringing in type of artist.

The worth of her masters are mostly likely near the bottom. She has never been a factor in the music industry and at this point they are releasing music to see what sticks around and perhaps maybe invest in that if it sticks and considering day one numbers of her new song the song isn’t worth spending money on.

She sabotaged last album's campaign by getting too upset over FroYo, so if I was her team I'd be a little cautious with the promotion as well.

why would demo be on todays top hits after flooping for decades. unreasonable request. thexr label's hands are tied

You have to invest in something for them to the flop and then stop investing :rip: Demi was riding her commercial peak in 2017/2018 and everything was going great (career wise)

they stopped Investing in 2020 after one flop single and the treatment she gets nowadays is abysmal.

Also, like, Demi did this rock gimmic 12 years ago so maybe Miley/Halsey should think of something else.

Well just saw the music video and the cover laying on a stained bed shaped like a cross, she should remember Gaga almost lost her career and had to tone it down, its such a negative vibe she gives, this era is dead on arrival.

Demi hasn’t had anything remotely close to a hit since 2017. They just released an album last year that yielded nothing and came and went in a week. It’s not surprising that they aren’t a label priority in terms of commercial success.

I find it interesting that Demi is doing the music they want to do, was able to release the song on a Friday, with a music video, performance, AND and album cover, title, release date and pre-order. Artists who don’t have label support don’t announce all at once.
