An artist is someone who creates songs and sings them. Who puts together conceptual directions for their bodies of work. That’s literally what Demi does. Demi is heavily involved in the song making process and unlike many faves on here, many of her songs (not all of course) are created from scratch (La La Land, Don’t Forget, Here We Go Again, CFTS, Confident, Sorry Not Sorry, Dancing with the Devil, Skin of My Teeth which comes out Friday). 

 

HWGA, TMYLM, and DWTDTAOSO are incredibly strong albums with a conceptual framework that is supported by each song. HWGA is soft pop rock with R&B fused, TMYLM is R&B and urban, DWTDTAOSO is dreamy indie pop. Demi is an artist for being able to create albums like that (earliest one at age 16!) DEMI, Confident, and Unbroken are more basic pop albums and follow similar structures as one another. Still impressive to have some deep ballads and bops simultaneously on one record. That’s an artist.

Demi is a non factor who has clearly been desperate to be a factor in the music industry. You must not be aware of her Twitter rant a few years back that no one buys her albums so why bother releasing albums.

That was an instagram comment and that was sarcastic in nature so you missed the point. Sorry Not Sorry was released after that, which went 7x platinum and just reached 1 billion streams on Spotify, a solo song did that. TMYLM album went platinum. DWTDTAOSO album sold 74K copies first week in USA, 21K in UK. Demi is doing well enough.

CFTS just went viral spontaneously and reached 1.5M spotify streams daily (insane), when before it was barely doing 200K.... Idk you can't deny Demi makes bops

Now, I know by now you know that guy does this with literally every popular album and what he points out isn't that it's "stolen" but that it's "similar" which tends to happen with music... considering... it only has 12 chords... and only so many chord progressions...  but it was a good attempt at flamebaiting, I guess.
