With Mercury - Act 1 securing another 1B track for them (in a few months) and Act 2 coming in July, is this going to be their peak decade?

 

Their streams last decade: 12.1B (ofc streaming only took off around 2015 but their debut in 2012 still delivered two 1B tracks, as they are one of the first successful acts on streaming)

Their streams this decade so far: 7.9B

she's peaking in streaming 

I personally don’t think so. But even if they did, I don’t care about these things as long as I’m still enjoying their music, which I am. The Mercury era has been my favourite era of theirs so far and this is without the extra 17 songs we have coming up.

I personally listened to their debut in 2012 (it's still on my ipod touch) but have lost touch with the music scene in general until the pandemic hits, and i got some time to catch up with their music. Great stuff!

I hope you have fun catching up with their albums. They have a lot of great album material. I love them all for different reasons, but Smoke + Mirrors and Mercury are my favourites. 
 

ID are a strange band in the sense they rarely have hits straight out of the gate. Their songs seem to catch an audience organically and then they end up with absolute smashes like Believer which is in the top 10 on Spotify for most streamed songs EVER. 
 

Mercury didn’t really have many songs that screamed “radio hit” but then Enemy came along and smashed out of nowhere so it’s really hard to tell what type of streaming success they’re going to achieve in the future but I definitely think they have some more stuff up their sleeves. Dan recently said this is only the beginning for the band, so I’m perched.

LOL I think it’s because they still have a lot of stuff they want to do with their music / sound in general so it’s his way of saying there’s a lot more to come. Apparently Mercury - Act 2 has a lot of songs that are heavily inspired by Hip-Hop, so who knows what awaits. To be fair, most of their best songs flop. Wrecked should have been a smash, but I don’t think they really care that much about charts anymore, but they’re still selling out stadiums / arenas 10 years in so the demand is real.

They peaked during Night Visions already, which will go Diamond in a few years. What we really should be asking is where the f*** is the promo for Bones? The song has been doing cute numbers for a while now

Not a decade of scoring hits, probably being remembered as the pop/rock band which all straight guys  can listen to

I can't see them getting another era as huge as NV or Evolve. But they will still big this decade
