I feel like it would depend on the overall content if the film. Something like The Conjuring, for example, I don't think would be a problem for a kid to watch—especially since the child actor would still have to have some sense of what's happening anyway. I think they should be able to watch what they helped create.

Alternatively, it wouldn't be appropriate for a child to watch something with excessive amounts of nudity or expletive language, even if they did play a part in the film. In my opinion, anyway.

I agree with the first half 100%. However I don't think language would be a reason to gatekeep a movie from a child if they performed in it tho. It would be a easy to explain "we don't repeat those words" if its a one-off and you're not giving them access to movies with that language normally.

I appreciate the input though : )

It ultimately just depends on the usage. I generally don't like the writing of most horror films nowadays, I don't understand the need for excessive expletive language. There's a huge difference, for example, between Halloween (1978) and Halloween Kills and Scream (1996) and Scream (2022). A portion of the script of Scream (2022) is just them standing around cussing at each other, whereas in the first film you don't have the cussing until the climax of the film—where I feel as though it makes sense and is more "appropriately" used.

I wouldn't feel comfortable with having my own child watching a film with that kind of language throughout, unless there was an edited version. And I say that as someone who hates censorship. They don't need to hear or be exposed to that at a young age. And that just goes back to how I was raised.

:fan: "We don't repeat those words" won't work for most red-blooded children. They're drawn to and revel in taboos; they'll keep repeating it.

The classics outslayed I fear.

I feel like this kinda answers the question in a different way than you meant to; it's down the parents and what they are comfortable with their own kid seeing. Yours would not see swearing, mine would. And that's okay! :bird:

Yeah, they definitely did; I prefer them, by far. I eventually would love to see a reboot of Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street, just for those franchises to be alive again, but I do wonder if it would actually be worth it. It's working for Scream, but those films have always been generally more consistent overall. Halloween had all the potential in the world, but they just made too many questionable choices with each subsequent film.

What age are we talking about here, anyway? Up to 11, I wouldn't want them hearing it. I'd just want to preserve their innocence for as long as possible. After middle school age, though, that's when I'd loosen the reigns and sit down with my child and explain that I bet not hear them using that type of language. They're going to hear it in school at that point, so it's whatever.

Dude I used to do all sorts of odd jobs and even maintained a job as a waiter for a while. What did the other two have on their resume???

My side hustles used to be painting fences, washing cars, mowing lawns. The women would pay me good tips when I did it shirtless on a sunny day :gaycat3:

Why the **** didn't I do it again this summer I was sitting HOME every day :rip:

I worked in Burger King for some time and it was hellish. Get yourself something better chile

like I worked at the library but it was boring and embarrassing but at least I don’t have flashbacks from it…. now I’m in this hotel for students and it’s cool I guess I can climb the ladder from there hopefully

Finding a room in Lisbon is so hard. :rip: I might as well sleep in my car. It'd be cheaper and more spacious than some of the offers I'm finding.

Im amazed myself haha did first start in 2012. Then during covid i did a lot aswell (i mean lock down for 6 months needed to find something to do) but after AI programs became a thing i wanted to make season 5 for some time now and so far with the voice over it looks so much neater :WAP:

The only time I get attention on insta is when I post feet, face or ass. Like no one cares about anything else

My last job was an administrative position in higher education. It paid well but I hated it. Academic faculty treat you like trash even though you're the glue that holds academia together.
