It depends on your relationship with them but when I quit my job last spring I found it better to schedule a meeting with them and tell them in-person before formally sending them a letter through e-mail.

Yeah was generally good to me so I think email is appropriate I'm lowkey scared of the reaction when I will come to the day shift and they will be there because they def didn't expect me to quit
