Well, I wanted to play the original Resident Evil 2 before the remake to clock the difference, so I went for the Japanese version, then I found out that it was more difficult that the international one and that they later re-released it and even added an easy mode.

Yes, the NA version of Popful Mail is basically impossible, I guess because they wanted people to keep paying for it (arcade/rentals). I tried emulating it and it was brutal, even the very first boss... The Japanese version is normal difficulty

NA version of GTA San Andreas had an easier score requirement for the Life's A Beach dance game

Ratchet & Clank used to have exclusive box art for Japan besides the usual NA / international box art variants video games would do.
