What are some of your spicy Kpop predictions for 2023?
Who will be on top and sweep? Who will flop? Who will debut? Which group will disband? Which member will have a solo debut? Which member will leave? Etc.

Come with your predictions and let’s see how badly they age

1.thumb.gif.1b1a23c245da6e5a9e3478bb53eb

- Lesserafim becoming biggest 4th gen gg internationally and domestically.

- No big hit for aespa kpop community and fanbase will carry them. No gp power.

- IVE vs LSF main competitors in kpop but LSFM dethrones them globally.

- NewJeans 2022 fads.

- Gaeul and Wonyoung fight in the public goes viral.

- The Boyz tape scandal

- Blackswan huge international smash hit

- Weeekly disbands Jihan in a new group as center member.

- Itzy losing their fanbase releasing kidz bops till they disband.

- Baemon huge debut. Monster rookies. Everyone loves them.

- Garam opens a tiktok account harrassing LSFM member and telling fake stories how they bullied her.

- Whole world suddenly forgots about twice and red velvet.

- Stray Kids broking BTS records. Changbin becomes world's most loved man ever.

- Giselle & Ning Ning subunit (AE) and Winter & Karina subunit (SPA) debuts.

Blackpink tumbling down the charts while multiple 4th gen ggs outlasted their 2 horrible titles and twice overtaking them in the us :clap3: it's over for them

This album :jonnycat:

First Love (stripper queens!)

Dressing Room (fave track, so good)

Love Beat (mega bop)

Time's Up (Nana & Uee's rap :katie2:)

Gah I miss AfterSchool :msmarvel:

it’s just too excellent :jonny5:

The way SM ****** red velvet over with that TT, "on a ride" , "bye bye" and "zoom" were better options, at least they remain bside queens

They barely did promo and are on their world tour now but I did expect them to fare better than TWICE tbh

They're still bigger than anyone else in SEA/China

1.thumb.gif.1b1a23c245da6e5a9e3478bb53eb

- Aespa will continue with their experimental music. 2M album sales. Still goes Top 10 but nowhere near NL or Savage level smashery.

- IVE will continue with their huge chart success streak. The TWICE of 4th Gen I fear, but has more international visibility early on.

- NewJeans' next title is going to be a SMASH with goodwill alone. Korea just loves them so much rn. Will challenge IVE for the NGG title.

- TWICE will continue to flop but will keep serving the fans with quality gaypop muzic

- BLACKPINK, will not release next year (except Japanese version of their recent KR cb). More model gigs and gigs not related to releasing new music.

- NMIXX will continue with their weird concept and will continue to BOMB like a nugu on the charts. High album sales since JYP is gonna fraud it up, however.

- Le Sserafim will continue to grow internationally if they keep their Antifragile sound. Might challenge IVE as the 4th Gen NGG, along with NJWS.

- BAEMON is gonna smash right of the gate if they have a member with natural star power like Jennie or Lisa. Otherwise, they will just be average overhyped gg. Will be decently successful because of BP goodwill.

- G(idle) will keep their girlpower/crush style and keep being successful until Korea GP gets bored of them. I'll give them 1.5 years.

- ITZY will continue to flop. Keep throwing **** against the wall until they strike another Sneakers.

- Weeekly will continue to be nugus along with Lapillus, Billie & Classy and all the other flop ggs

- fromis_9 still nugu but their fraudery will send them to the Top 20/30 of the charts.

- XG will continue to be a niche group with loyal fans and stable success.

- TXT is gonna stay pretty much the same. 1M-2M album sales but single is going to peak at Top 60 with no longevity, unless they get lucky and Korea likes their new song enough to go Top 30. :chick3:

- Add: Skz will be assume BTS' spot, especially now they are leaving for a while.

- STAYC: I feel like Run2u is a fluke and they are gonna flop next cb. Hopefully I'm wrong cuz I like them and they deserve to be successful :dancehall2:

- Kep1er: They will score a hit soon ala Fiesta. I can feel it!

aespa nowhere to be seen 2 years into their career :clap3:

lmaooooo that would be so messy

My takes on 2023:

4th gen girl groups:

Le Sserafim, New Jeans, IVE will continue to thrive in both album sales and digitals. NMiXX will maintain the same path with digital underperformances but decent album sales.

GIdle will continue to do well but will decline from past releases

Aespa will have a sound and image overhaul that will be met with positive reaction and reach new heights.

Kep1er Will continue to release music with ok results

Baemon will debut with decent results

4th gen boy groups:

Stray kids and txt will do well on album sales but flop in digitals

The boyz will reach a new peak

The rest will decline

3rd gen girl and boy groups:

Mamamoo, red velvet, twice and blackpink will continue to release music maybe more focused on solo projects in different artistic fields

BTS (jimin, jk, V and suga) will release their solo albums, will do very well on album sales and the singles will perfom decently

Got7, exo and monstax will have 1 comeback each and more focused on solos

2nd gen

GG, Big Bang, apink will continue to release music with okay results

tumbling down where? :deadbanana4: last time I checked both their singles were higher on both Korean charts and Spotify with Twice being N/A and RV struggling to overtake those „flop” positions with their recently released comeback :rip:

also Twice overtaking them in the US is just the fact of them having constant releases with BP album having only 2-3 months of tracking :rip:

also, let 4th gen thrive at least in Korea, because globally they are nowhere near BP

most of the people here have some weird wet dreams of BP „underperforming” and „tumbling down” and then making excuses of their faves struggling to enter the top50 of any chart :rip: either local of global

also, NewJeans pre release in 17 days! we should get preorder then too!

any sales predictions?

will we get standard rollout with teaser photos or some new rollout concept? :flower:

Out of all the 3rd groups this year. BP did the best, Bts still ahead because of their past releases even if their last cb did flop.
BP has over 700M digital points with 4 months of tracking, 2 top 5, 2B streams, their biggest streaming year. Their world tour will generate $100M while the new girlies could dream of playing in +10k attendance concerts. And they did with the bare minimum.

The other girlies aren’t coming from them. Let’s stop, especially when GG stans love to switch up and stan the new thing.

However surprised with twice US popularity, they’re growing up steadily :gaygacat5:Not bad for a declining group.

Relax, I said they are doing fine and on a tour with hardly any promo :rip:

It's undeniable that after their high profile collabs of both Lady Gaga, Cardi B, and Selena Gomez (some of the biggest pop stars in the US) as well as western demos that they underperformed. There's nothing wrong with that. Great album and ticket sales but it's a shame they're ending their career releasing the worst music they've ever made

your opinion on the quality of their music is subjective, I can assure you that their fans and people who bought ticket to their tour (which will break various gg records) enjoy Born Pink and don’t find it their worst output

also, a collab doesn’t mean that the song/artist will be successful and that goes to a lot of high profile songs - BP are doing bigger numbers on their own than some western acts do, so it’s ridiculous to say they underperformed, especially when their previous release was in 2020 and we all know it’s a HUGE gap in the kpop world - people are here for them and their „flop” and „underperformed” stats prove that! literally any group but BTS dreams of „BP at their lowest” kind of success

also, to say they are ending their career when they just scored their biggest album and are currently on the record breaking tour is quite a lot, isn’t it?

They're literally debuting Baemon and I highly doubt the girls are going to be allowed to release music that isn't YG/Teddy approved

Being in the dungeon is literally the company's strategy :rip:

Jisoo is over music, and I doubt that any of the others will really want to resign (especially Lisa who stands to earn more like BamBam in Thailand)

BP is YG’s golden goose and the last thing that keeps them standing, one can guess what they could negotiate but we will know soon enough

they are also rumored to play festival in September and that’s after their contracts end

not every YG group is working with Teddy and that might also be the case for Baemon
