I've never liked the live version that much and she has other dance songs that are more anthemic and more stadium-like (WFL, WHYB, Only Girl)

TBH... I think Avatar's OST won't be a threat to Rih's chances... 

 

But we will have to wait and hear the song first.... 

 

Vegas and hold my hand seem like frontrunners along with Rih... And sadly I think that commercial success doesn't help at all with the Oscars... So I don't know what to think about it. 

 

With a nomination I'd be very happy tbh. 

 

If she wins... Then that would be insane... 

 

But if the Oscars have to choose between Gaga, Doja, the weekend and Rihanna.... Then I'm afraid it's going to win a song that is none of those tbh. 

The Oscar will be very interesting. I hope the nomination and the performance. LMU deserves a live performance. She will do an amazing performance, I know it

We havent heard the song, and i am by no means an expert in Oscars. But even then i am indeed scared of one of the most successful male singers in the last 5 years doing the soundtrack for a movie that is forecasted to debut just a 10-15% short of what Black Panther did in its opening weekend. And they will deifnitely compete against each other in many categories like sound mixing and editing, original score, etc

I feel like if there's a moment in her life when she will be doing that instead of promoting the music though performances... It's now.

But LMU is doing fine. Tbh. For the kind of song it is... It's still navigating the Xmas flood.... And this week it's Top10 on 2 of the 3 metrics on billboard... I don't see the problem 

Yeah, Lift Me Up is doing just fine and fighting pretty well during the Xmas freeze thus far

 

Also R9 doesn't mean uptempo songs, we really have no clue what it's gonna sound like

 

4 more weeks left to hold on... ? Hopefully it has enough margin with those 40 spots left to survive Xmas season...

Con La Brisa deserves the Oscar more tho  

Con la brisa is a really good song but LMU is better. Is more important with the meaning of the movie. It's elegant, is beautiful. 

 

 

 

I told you about that before. This could be the reason this won't happen. Hassan was a really important part of Rihanna life in the moment they filmed. She became more private after that relation. She became a mogul while she was with him. 

Peter Berg look like a good friend of Rih but also a good friend of Hassan.

Part of the hate comes from the fact it doesn't sound like a Rihanna song and isn't what people (and fans like) expected to hear from her on her 'comeback' song. It's giving "FourFiveSeconds" release, she always defies expectations
