posting here cause I don't wanna cause any drama elsewhere but I do wonder if Taylor kinda stole her thunder back considering how massive she's been ever since last year (and so when Olivia basically went into hiatus). Saying this cause they clearly share the same audience.

 

I do wonder if this is gonna hurt Olivia's numbers of people are still gonna support them both (especially considering some die-hard swifties seem to not like Olivia). I personally believe she's gonna smash unless the material is underwhelming.

no i get what you mean. it’s a known fact they share the same audience, and a LOT of die-hard swifties are super loyal. ergo, those who just checked out Olivia due to Tay recognizing her, the drama is enough reason to not support her. even worse, hate on her

 

but like you said, i also feel she’d smash regardless. i’m not saying Olivia’s part of Tay’s resurgence, but honestly the similarity of both goes both ways. a lot of Gen-z don’t necessarily stan for Taylor’s old stuff. Olivia’s fanbase who doesn’t know it, were definitely influenced to discover more of Taylor’s discography. the same way Arianators are late Lambily.

even the most well written songs would sound silly if you take 2 or 3 random lines, without knowing the whole thing. people do too much

 

imagine seeing these verses randomly:

 

“You put me on and said I was your favorite”

“I wore makeup when we dated, coz I thought you'd like me more”

“Cause I'd never treat me this shitty, you made me hate this city”

 

long story short, how is everyone scrutinizing a song based on a few lines and notes. the hate is so forced

Which is why I loathe lyric teasers. Nothing less than an epic line sounds good out of context.

It’s much better than some of the vampire related titles people were coming up with.

I mean when I heard SOUR was the name of OR1 I kinda was underwhelmed and it turned out to be one of my fav albums
