Why is it so hard being her fan I thought this year we would be working on growing/expanding nation with content and performances and at least 1 visual ..like get her name back out there 

Even the last Fifth Harmony era wasn't that bad…

How you make the experience of your first era as a soloist so bad? And some people are still defending her and think her leaving RCA will solve all problems ? Nobody in her team says to her that she needs to stop ignoring her fans and be honest at least for once? We waited 6yo for a trash ass era?? I still can't believe how she is playing in ours faces.

She has no excuses for why she isn't close to her fanbase. We literally have communities and social media managers. She has no excuses. 

Next to certain there's some big drama behind the scenes.

 

My bet would be legal and it either involves the label and maybe even Brandon (wasn't she signed to his publishing company too). 

 

Whatever the case, something extremely left is at play as this is way beyond the scope of "she's not promoting" or "is being lazy".

 

I've been one of the most vocal critics of her antics, but I really don't think it's even fair to lash at this exact point because I'm 99% sure something beyond the scope of simply promoting is at play.

I really hope those « there is something behind the scenes » discourses would stop one day. Every year it's the same. 
 

Her main problem is her cruel lack of online presence and it's always been like that. I just hoped that with her first era, an album she fight to switch the genre and recorded for 6yo, she would change her antics but I was wrong. When she dropped motivation, one week after releasing it and reposting celebs praising her, she went ghost online. She did the same with wild side and bardi gang was shocked how nonchalant she was. And she is just doing the same for this  first era (a trash one). The pattern was always there. It's like she is ashamed of her own music. Ok I understand you have behind the scenes problems but promote your music online. You can't release, lie then go ghost. And some dumb ones are gonna act like it's ok for her to act like that. I'm tired of making excuses for her and be patient when doesn't give back. She was with Brandon and we had the same problem, she switched team and it's the same all over again.

But the mute album launch and the nothing that followed is 100% unprecedented terrain. For any release. Even from an indie act. Like, it literally transcends any discourse about "she doesn't promote" or "she needs to use social media better". It's so bizarre IMO that the only option is something big and unmaneuverable.

 

Hopping on social to promote an album (potentially) at the center of litigation is borderline pointless.

 

I guess we'll see how it all shakes out.

She always goes on mute when she releases music all the time, nothing is changing. That's why I don't think there's something going on behind the scenes. Watch her change label, you will see the same pattern

because the problem is HER. If she has such a hard time with social media and connecting with fans why is she putting herself in such pain? It's not working and it will never work that way.

I'm open to eating humble pie if she continues her antics at another label. 

 

But I'm super dialed into the fact that the industry is a business and not an episode of Empire.

 

I say that to say Mani does not wield as much power or autonomy in a major label set up as a lot fans and even haters think. Maybe she's had it easy at RCA (and I think others in her mix may have enabled her like Keep Cool and Brandon). But even contractually, she won't get away with recording on someone's dime and not promoting. It's just not how the music industry works in general. 

 

It's a huge reason why I think the fact she's gone her most radio-silent post-album release is indicative of some real BTS drama. A start-stop beforehand actually tallies with the type of delays that are common in the music industry. E.g. setting up the right single, recalibrating after a flop release, waiting for a budget refresh. Teasing videos, launching an album...and then going off the grid isn't normal. Even for Mani and her situation.

All she does is reposting people that appreciate her music more than her and write thank you as a comment on their post and she thinks it's a killer online promo game. Bland content. She is so slow…

Looks like she was shooting an ad for airbnb. A marketing exec posted this. Airbnb is doing some type of collab with Mattel and Polly Pocket that looks exactly like the set. I actually don't know if it's an ad but I am just assuming

Spending 2 weeks to a month in a dance studio recording dances would never hurt and bring lots of interest because her main thing is performing. She can make these videos together as well like Tinashe did for half the price with no price on marketing.

I hope she and RCA know that next album release it will not chart at all and the numbers are gonna be even more bad.

Laughable how she thinks her having a good album is the reason why hundreds millions of people are gonna magically listen to it… the let the art speaks for itself discourse is so dated and ridiculous. 
She makes things harder for her then people are gonna talk about how she deserves better … how??
