Girl.. I was there lmao I've seen Gaga live 13 times, and the first show was an album pre-release party in a tiny bar outside Vancouver.

 

I do not say this lightly: Chappell can go all the way.

 

She has the same stage presence, voice, theatricality, authentically queer spirit, and an ELECTRIC performance style that I also saw in Gaga nearly 20 years ago. She's very f*cking special.

The challenge for any of these new stars is that the industry is so different today with streaming and the decline of radio as an influence. We almost never have the "universally talked about" pop star anymore, because people just consume whatever they want and ignore what they don't. The only star that has really done that since Lady Gaga's debut is Taylor Swift.

Yup, I agree. I think fans follow the cues of their "fave," and it's clear Gaga celebrates younger artists rising rather than feeling threatened. She probably sees any influences or similarities as flattering.

Exactly. Combine that with the fact that she remembers how she was treated + she's talented enough to pivot into any field of the entertainment industry and find success means she's secure in her career and legacy.
 

And like you said, Liddos are following suit. Which is good, because seeing some stans on here still bursting blood vessels over comparisons that were made 16 years ago is ******* embarrassing and it's good that Liddos aren't on track to become that.

I'm predicting that she'll either do it after she has a child (should she want to of course, nothing wrong if she doesn't obviously) or if she just wants to take it a little slower and work in one place without having to travel for a while. 

Even though I personally don't see a lot of similarity between Chappell and Gaga in the way that I also never saw that many similarities between her and Madonna I at least take solace in knowing that Gaga will never treat Chappell the way Madonna treated her.

 

In 5F2 you could see how that kinda affected/negatively impacted her and I think that by having one of your idols (or some i.e. Grace Jones) lambast you publicly for the first couple of years of your career (even worse that Gaga was in her early to mid 20s during this)- Gaga has made it a mission of hers to never be that way to her "successor" (i.e offering to be Billie's mentor after her Grammy wins)
