Pray she records more than one mv and does more than what she did during the Chromatica era where she blamed everything on covid when all the other popstars managed to work around it. Let's see if she can make up for so many wasted years this time around. How exactly was Joanne not a "proper era"? Even ARTPOP, for how much the singles run was ****** up after Troy left, she kept going with promo and the tour. You're just loud and wrong. 12
IBeMe Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Just now, TMRA said: As long as the music is good i dont even care tbh. Single in June, music video, some interviews, a performance, album July/August with second single and video. After that we have Joker, award season and a possible world tour to keep us fed well into 2025. Exactly. I'm looking forward to the music cuz Chromatica was excellent as an album but to expect Gaga of all popstars to serve a proper, cohesive and well executed ERA is literally ludicrous at this point. I'm focusing on the music first and foremost personally. She always delivers in that regard. Just now, Miichael said: How exactly was Joanne not a "proper era"? Joanne was sporadic burst of promo and then dead silence for months in between. It was chaos. The superbowl and a few other moments saved it. Not a well executed era by no means. 1 3

We got the dive bar, we got the SUPER BOWL, Victoria secrets, she went to Japan. She was booked and busy during that era. We could have had a professional recording too( yeah luck wasn't on her side) 3

Europe Posted May 26 Posted May 26 I am confused by that comment, we even had so many radio interviews during the Joanne era. I loved her "woman in her thirties holding a baby in one hand and a cigarette in the other hand and that woman was me" story
Pipii Posted May 26 Posted May 26 (edited) How was ARTPOP not a proper era? I mean, after all of the issues with her management, this woman still delivered so much: Applause – MTV Video Music Awards (8.25.2013) iTunes Festival (9.1.2013) Somewhere Over the Rainbow + Applause – Good Morning America (9.9.2013) Do What U Want (Acapella) – The AMPYA Moment (10.24.2013) Gypsy (Acoustic) – The AMPYA Moment (10.24.2013) Venus + Do What U Want – The X Factor UK (10.27.2013) Do What U Want – Graham Norton Show (10.29.2013) Venus – Graham Norton Show (10.29.2013) Dope – YouTube Music Awards (11.3.2013) artRave (11.10.2013) / iHeartRadio Album Release Party with Lady Gaga Version Applause (Jazz Version) + New York, New York – Saturday Night Live (11.16.2013) Do What U Want with R. dacted – Saturday Night Live (11.16.2013) / Online master Gypsy – Saturday Night Live (11.16.2013) / Online master Do What U Want with R. dacted – American Music Awards (11.24.2013) / VEVO Version Applause (Acoustic) – Sukkiri!! hausofbryan Posted May 26 Posted May 26 I get what people mean when they say it didn't feel like a proper era. ARTPOP was full of Gaga clearly going through a tough time, a ton of things being scrapped (DWUW video being most glaring) or overruled (Venus being pushed by Gaga and ignored.) She still did things, but 2013 standards were not the same as 2024. In 2024, it's pretty standard to quite literally do zero promotion and barely bother with any visuals anymore. That wasn't how it was when ARTPOP came out. 1
Nico Robin Posted May 26 Posted May 26 ARTPOP and Joanne were proper eras. There was actually a lot of promo during Joanne, but most of it felt boring/unexciting because it was Joanne era lmao. Cant say much for ARTPOP but she did many performances and interviews me thinks 1
hausofbryan Posted May 26 Posted May 26 I don't think Gaga will just drop LG7 and dip anyway. I assume she'll have at least two music videos and do one "major" performance before full JFAD mode, whether it be VMAs or elsewhere. I don't expect a bunch of interviews or magazines though, I assume most of them will be for JFAD.
Forestboy Posted May 26 Posted May 26 BTW was kinda her last proper fleshed out era. ARTPOP would have been, and it was close, but so much got cancelled and with firing little Troy boy it all went to shxt a little. Joanne was a dry ass pxssy of an era, and thanks to Covid the promo planned for Chromatica all went in the bin basically. 1

She spent a decent amount of time in Chicago with Taylor at the time, too.

I'm not sure why you're acting like the Superbowl and "few other moments" weren't very much part of the era though, it makes no sense to just not include them. We also got FF2 and all of the promo that came with that, the tour, Coachella, Grammy performance in 2018 well over a year after the album came out, and even the Joanne remix single. She was getting nominated for Grammy's for Joanne material up until 2019, so the era certainly had quite a lifespan. Not really sure where this "dead silence" was other than maybe Jan 2017 while she was deep in Superbowl rehearsal.
MAKSIM Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Artpop and joanne were proper eras, especially to today's standards where eras are launched and end within a few weeks.
Jack! Posted May 26 Posted May 26 I find it weird they chose to delay Stupid Love since the package was ready to go. It leaked before 7th Feb if I recall (could be wrong about this though) so why not just push for the original release? I know there's always more to what goes on behind the scenes though, but it's interesting. 1 1
hausofbryan Posted May 26 Posted May 26 I can't wait until Tuesday. I just feel like that's when she'll officially announce. 1

But I remember the era very well because I was SUPER active during that period and I remember us complaining like crazy that there were like months on end of nothing happening between mvs and stuff. It just felt really like a randomly planned era with random bursts of promo and then dead silence between or just a small random thing like an article or something. Could be wrong I guess but I remember that was the collective narrative in the base 1

Stupid Love leaked almost a whole month before release, I remember already overplaying it and being super bored with it by the time it came out. I cant believe they didnt pick Alice or Replay as the lead considering everything 1

My thoughts and prayers are now with LG7 to be THE Gargoyle era we deserve. Fake insiders to the left of me, Joker FADs to the right as we march into an epic year that will be bad for the OGHs, as I once famously declared. While this base continues to beg for a crumb of tea (PLEEEK RIDEORDIE PLEEK), and Gargamel dances in the shadow of the night, there's only one thing left for me to say to you liddos... Hide contents PUT YOUR ******* HANDS UP! Cool but when is the lead going to be released? Lol

I also think it's to be expected that promo will slow down when an album has been out for a few months already. 3

hausofbryan Posted May 26 Posted May 26 I noticed the Chromatica special airs a bunch coming up on HBO, but highlighting that on Tuesday it airs again at 8PM ET (primetime). It'll probably get decent viewership for that slot.
