All of Godga’s music is quality. The fact that the US radio dropped her back in 2013 is tragic. She released many potential radio smashes after 2013 but nothing really broke through and who would’ve thought that BM would be a radio hit given its mood, lyrics and screams in between? TikTok truly made this into a smash thanks to Wednesday and huge exposure. It was a perfect storm that happens very rarely.

I'd have never thought that it would still be getting positive radio updates, reach almost top 40 and stabilize at 1M daily streams 4 months after it first went viral but here we are. BTW, the timeless album of the millennium that you are, whew

We can’t compare BM’s exposure and the actual dance trend attached to it coming from a viral series to whatever ROM was having. And which Gaga song did good on callouts excluding her very first releases up to let’s say 2013 and BM? Exactly.

DWUW also did well , reached Top10 on Pop and #12 overall radio.

Applause, yeah, didn’t track DWUW. But her callouts are overall not great thanks to radio being trash.

I think its about her vocals and writing pop songs style keep getting more and more theatre kid type. Which pop radio avoids.

The more easy going and chill the more you get spins at Pop radio.

I just stated a fact, it did pretty bad on callouts. You may not like it, that's fine. ROM was a big pop collab with radio darling Ariana and it still didn't get enough Pop radio airplay. Those are the facts.

 

As for "exposure", it's a song released in 2020 complete with streaming push. At its peak, it had a playlisting reach of 245M (vs 75M for BM, almost a third). Are you really trying to insinuate that the exposure that BM got "thanks to Wednesday" (a show that it wasn't even featured on and caught on out of nowhere) was greater than a song plastered on every Spotify playlist including TTH, Hot Hits alongside a full album release campaign? Please

As i look at the biggest radio stations recently played songs daily like Z100 and KIIS LA or Spotify’s TTH biggest playlist, There is just only one thing in common and its literally every single singer using their softest, cutest vocals and mix them with light instrumentals together. 

 

The most close Gaga singles to them would be Paparazzi , Lovegame and maybe Monster i think?

 

You cant even find another one like Bloody Mary in current radio playlists/rotations. Bloody Mary was lucky because its the biggest tiktok trend of the year. 

 

After all Gaga is in her own element and there is no other like her. Love this woman forever. Just say F*CK POP RADIO. There is literally no other woman or men making music like hers.

Rain On Me peaked at 10500 Pop radio spins its like 2k more than Bloody Mary right now. 

The biggest shook they cut the radio support too easily. 

Rain on Me was released on May 22 and it was already bleeding around Mid July/ Early Aug. 

I just dont want to blame Pop radio for Rain On Me. 

10500 spins is maximum you can reach without any PR and dead last calllouts. 

 

And radio stations always wait for good callouts before they put a song on PR. 

 

Radio was ready but callouts said no. Simple as that.

But Pop radio is also much weaker now, so BM's 8k spins today are much more impressive in the current climate.

Oh bloody Mary needs to go top 40 on hot 100. It's more important than the top 10 position on pop radio for me . 7 top 40 hits on hot 100 from the same album..the last female albums who had 7 (or more) top 40 hits were 'Red' and 'Sour' ..

BM's longevity is very impressive, both on radio and on Spotify. The fact that it has naturally stabilized at 1M daily long after the trend died with virtually no playlisting support and still getting positive radio updates >>> 

 

Its callouts are also good, which I do think is partially a result of how well it has resonated with younger audiences as @Mr. Stratus has said earlier.
