I forgot how beautiful that moment was. I made my grandma watch the interview and performance, she cried. She grew up listening to Tony. 
It would be a deserving Emmy win. But I do want Gaga to win an acting Emmy one day

But is it really tho? A Lowkey chorus was a huge trend in 2016 

Joanne didn’t have anything worthy of being a lead single win 2016 imo. Perfect Illusion was too grating to ever do more than it did. Million Reasons is a good second single but I doubt it would’ve drummed up any significant excitement among fans as a comeback following the post-ARTPOP hiatus.
 

-Diamond Heart may have been a better option but the chorus is a bit shouty for general audiences/radio. 

-A-YO kinda sucks :/ it may have done okay but It’s a little too country to serve as Joanne’s lead I think  

-DIC is great but idk it’s very explicitly about masturbating and isn’t very traditionally catchy

My vote probably would’ve gone to John Wayne though. It’s a highlight of the album regardless but it’s probably one of  the most palatable songs on the album. Diamond Heart would’ve been a decent choice also. Perfect Illusion is just so loud and shouty, I’m not sure why it was chosen as the lead outside the lyrics being relatable. Great song, terrible single. 

She should steal Nothing Breaks like a Heart and serve as lead for Joanne
