I saw there's rumors of Katy getting this years Vanguard at the VMAs? She would be the most obvious choice .

 

I checked the date, and it's September 10, a Tuesday. I wouldn't personally wanna wait for the album that long, but her releasing it the Friday before (09/06), then doing the VMAs that week on Tuesday is a good strategy. I know the VMAs are not as relevant as they were years ago, but it will still have a boost over the debut week. People have been nostalgic about her old hits lately, and her receiving a vanguard for her iconic videography now more than ever will add to that, along with a medley of her hits and maybe 2 or 3 songs off of the new album is a perfect opportunity.

Probably. It's the only semi-massive event during summer & autumn season, so it's very obvious option for KP6 promo. 

How long does it usually take for artists to start an era once the listening party was held? 

I don't even know what to say. She is here to slay so hard. 

Guys why was there one journalist that mentioned the listening party and no one else mentioned it even huge fans for like another 12 hours???

it depends, actually. it can be immediate (the day after or a few days later), one to two weeks, or, in extreme cases, up to a month. the timing depends on the artist's promotional strategy, label decisions, and the nature of the project. the priority, in this case, I believe, is to maximise engagement and impact, balancing the anticipation generated by the listening parties with the official start of the new era; and also because the last things they want are boring\bad perceptions\releases.

I think what Katy needs is let go of camp, colorful, kitsch gimmicks and esthetics

 

Her next era should be more organic, more raw, mixture of dance electro/dance/synth-pop with rock elements.
