one of the few legacy acts who's popularity has sustained itself from the boomers thru the gen z

makers of rumours, consistently the most streamed album of the 1970s, as well as other classics such as tusk, the self titled album and tango in the night (not you mirage, tho gypsy and hold me clear)

a rare band with three singer songwriters who are all equally important to the make up of their sound and all of whom have classic hits

i've been reading producer ken calliat's book about the making of rumours recently and it's funny how the personalities come thru in the music, like lindsay is really brittle and intense, stevie has that mystic vibe, christine is dependable and charming and that's the vibe you get from them, it's kind of the function that they perform on record.

The OG fleetwood mac are really interesting as well, there are a bunch of incarnations before the classic line up but the early uk hits all go off, oh well esp is a real bop. peter green was a really interesting figure too, one of the early casualties of 60s drug culture and i guess a straw in the wind for the band's later excesses

the greatest rock band of all time? ATRL discuss!

Legends for sure. Glad I caught their tour in 2018 (after Lindsey got kicked out again, but before Christine died), was a really special night and kind of nice without Lindsey tbh because it freed them up to play less Tusk cuts and explore some other tracks. They ended the night with this hidden Christine gem which became a really poignant and beautiful duet between her and Stevie.
