She hasn’t released an original lead song in over 2 years it’s kinda dumb of her to waste all the comeback hype on a Barbie song. She should release the lead this spring otherwise she’s gonna have to have another big break after June to build hype again.

Yeah but buzz singles happen all the time, they're not usually meant to be pushed as a hit are are usually not promoted.

It was a big distinguishable era, but if she thinks this is all it took to cement herself into pop history she’s surely mistaken. She better come out full swinging for DL3 and it better be soon because she still has plenty to proof

The amount of vitriol she gets from other fanbases is insane.. just because she chose to structure her albums a certain way so that it racks up more streams in the STREAMING era.. god forbid someone makes a good business decision we immediately have to label it as ‘inorganic’ and ‘fraudulent’

The fact that she’s probably trying to: finish the album, prepare the entire aesthetic for the era, plan the lead, plan her Met Gala stuff, prepare for potentially two movie press runs and multiple soundtrack song releases. I just KNOW her heads spinning right now

I agree that it’s a misstep to not release an album this year but please keep in mind Loves that if she really is spending the time to make sure DL3 is a quality record then it’ll all be worth it at the end. We have got to be just a little more patient. We’ll have the Barbie song soon to obsess over

Katy fully lasted 7 years from 2008-2015 (Superbowl) and had 3 very successful albums and a $200M grossing tour on top of like 9 US #1s, miss Lip should be so lucky

You can't put it like that because it seems that there was nothing happening since the album release, when in reality, the era lasted until only a few months ago. There was so much that happened in those 3 years and Dua is still just as relevant.

 

I'd rather have her take her time and come out with another 10/10 album, than rush it just for the sake of releasing something and have it be mediocre.
