I could be reaching but it smells like manipulated reporting. Columbia reported huge digital store sales in the first seven weeks for "Dynamite". Suddenly in the eighth week the song crashes for the first time as "Mood" (also on Columbia) gets ahead of "WAP" for the first time ever? Pretty sure they underreported store sales in order to secure another #1 for the label...

Does anyone else feel really disconnected from music lately? Corona has made all the biggest hits of 2020 feel so different than all of the other years I've followed charts. One of my favorite parts of following music was seeing the social impact it, hearing it everywhere, all that kinda stuff. Not encouraging people to be reckless with Covid or anything, but this year has been so depressing in that aspect. In reality, I can't complain too much as it's the least of society's problems rn, but I've felt kinda numb to the biggest hits this year.

 

I'm also extremely overworked/mentally exhausted which could be why on a personal level, lol

Authentic hits in the Top 4  We love to see it

I was burnt out on first listen  it's such a basic throwback song. Doesn't even have the character of songs like Locked Out of Heaven or AATB...

Mood has to be one of the weakest #1s point wise ever. Given it's Rock/Alternative lean, I've listened to the song & its pretty good. So don't assume when I say "weak" I want to demean the song. This is just an observation.

My favorite formats only very rarely reach the Top 10 so I've felt disconnected from "popular" music for years on end.

Christmas songs start getting exclusive airplay at AC on 01 November, which is less than two weeks away. Christmas streaming kicks in not long after that. So Circles & BL may finally get pushed off the charts before 2021 arrives.
