The site is ran by a Madonna/Lana stan who keeps posting nudes on his socials . Which in itself shouldn't be a problem I guess... but his chart methodology is just incredibly dumb inaccurate. 

 

Simply looking at the "about us" section, you can see his methodology for the album chart is strictly based on actual stats (sales + streams) from a handful of music market (including only TWO Asian countries) while everything else is weighted based on market sizes as if the charts in the western world are even remotely similar to the ones in Asian countries and can just be weighted accordingly

Wbk Mediatraffic is messy, the problem is that he's the only one to do WW weekly estimates so we're stuck with his biased and unreliable numbers

Yeah, the fact all of Taylor's albums sold more because she's huge in Asia...

I'm talking about in general, when there's a thread about UWC all the fanbases complain and at the end the swities can just add whatever she sold in China to what Mediatraffic has and get the numbers, it's not really big deal.

It’s not how it works, he doesn’t even have access to streaming data in China for example and that’s just a tiny part of the problem. Her record-breaking streaming stats in Philippines are also completely forgotten.

I mean it's not like the only problem with UWC is them not including China. Even the data they do try to "include" is completely whack.

UWC might not be 100% accurate but there really isn't any other reliable site to track global sales. IFPI only counts pure sales which is irrelevant in 2020, and everyone calls chartmasters fraud when its convenient  At this point those 3 are the only sources at all, unless labels come out with their own numbers.

Only for the albums chart. They count SPS for their artist chart and their singles chart.

I know. That's what I was talking about, and only counting pure sales isn't accurate either so there's not really an indicative source for global album consumption.

IFPI should use SPS for album since pure sales is getting more and more irrelevant. I believe they have all the information since they use SPS to report for single and artist consumption. Anyway, I wonder if Taylor can top for global recording artist with most music consumption for second consecutive years. Iconic

And it's not like Taylor does bad with streaming so her SPS numbers would be great too  Once IFPI includes streams in their album consumption it's over for UWC
