Whitney Houston's The Ultimate Collection was released in 2007 internationally and has sold 3 million ww. This week on the UK charts, it surpassed the 300 week mark (78-84) after charting steadily for the last seven years.

 

Only two other albums by female artist have stayed on the chart for at least 300 weeks: Amy Winehouse's Back to Black at 404 weeks and Madonna's 1990 compilation, The Immaculate Collection which stands at 341 weeks.

 

It is now the longest-running album in the UK by a African-American female artist, nudging past from Tracy Chapman's self-titled debut.
