Though I swear I thought "Eazy Breezy" charted back in the day :rip:

:clap3:

I don't really like the song that much, but I'm happy for her success, it's deserved.

YASSS BITCH DID THAT . Havent been this happy for someone charting it a while :jonny5:KH3 and Utada impact

While “Simple & Clean” and “Sanctuary” are the better Kingdom Hearts songs, “Face My Fears” is still THAT bitch :clap3: much better than “Don’t Think Twice.”

!!! Her best songs :jonny:

Glad she's finally making impact in her home country :clap3:

She should have had a proper chance in the US, but Interscope decided to push stuff like "Easy Breezy" with questionably racist lyrics so she was viewed as a joke.  Sigh.....

It was.... very questionable.  You can't tell me that in 2004 a label wanting to push "You're easy breezy and I'm Japaneeszy" isn't questionable at BEST.  The biggest hit she had here at the time was in KH.  Just a very strange choice.

The entire Exodos album was a misfire tho.

There weren't a lot of snowflakes back in 2004. Those lyrics wouldn't have mattered. :cm:

OT: Congrats to her! :clap3:

They did matter, cause she flopped horrendously back then.

The few people that DID talk about the album mentioned those lyrics specifically, so I'm not off-base with that.  I just think it's the lowest denominator move to bring someone into a different country.

I'm older than most of y'all here so y'all feel your feelings, and I'll do the same.  Glad she's still finding success.

It is a crappy, ridiculous lyrics but to call it racist is so delusional and snowflake-y. And Exodus is one of her best albums, stay mad.

People brought up the lyrics because theyre stupid lyrics, stop making it out to be something more than what it was. Shes a japanese woman calling herself japanese, stop being dramatic

I always thought she meant Japaneasy as Japanese + easy, meaning that the guy she’s singing about thought of her like that (the stereotype of the hypersexual, submissive Asian woman).
