It’s really not fair to compare DW to “pop girls recent albums” when those pop girls in question (Gaga, Katy, etc) are past their peaks and Ariana is still in hers. Nobody is doubting that Ariana is a main girl of 2018 specifically but in the grand scheme of the 2010s she’s just not a main pop girl. The other girls all had massive eras like TD, The fame, 21, GGGB, 1989, etc that all pushed 10-15m+ units worldwide AND were backed by several #1 hits, whereas Ariana’s never even came close to that.
