It's not that hard to grasp. Beyonce is separate from DC3 and Beyonce is separate from The Carters. Merging receipts is fine for her career totals, but not for her solo totals. They do the same thing with Selena Gomez & Diana Ross. Bey's next album won't be B8, it'll still be her 7th studio album.

Of course DC and The Carters count toward her career - this isn't hard to grasp. Jackson 5 counts toward MJs career... No Doubt counts toward Gwen's career... NSYNC counts toward Justin's career. Just because you go on to bigger & better doesn't mean your past accomplishments vanish, especially when you were such a driving force in the former's success... sure there's a difference in terms of records and statistics (solo accomplishments vs. career accomplishments) but trust and believe while you are all consumed with stats, the GP consumes the artist the same way as they did in their group and the success is often lumped and considered as a whole.

That was always the case. 

 

I know there are some hive members who claim DC totals towards her solo totals but they are wrong. 

 

When looking at Beyonce's overrall career you count everything but looking at Beyonce's the solo artist. Then only her solo work or work where she is a ft artist or lead artist on a single should count. 

 

Groups are separate.

Destiny's Child sales don't count as part of Beyoncé's solo record sales. 

 

However, as a member of the group it is perfectly normal that all 3 members are credited for the group's achievements. 

 

U could say for example that Bey has 6 #1s as a solo artist and a further 3 as part of DC. 

 

Same with record sales.
