Any gain at all on Top 40 for a Country crossover is excellent. I guess I should just be happy The Sound Of Silence scraped the bottom of Top 40 and HAC Charts last year, as that's a big accomplishment for Rock (not Alternative) and Country.

Alright, UF peaked at 248.908 on Kworb's AI. However, it peaked at different formats at different times. SOY is having peak airplay at largely the same time.

 

When combining all of the peaks together, UF ranks #4 with 279.01, and SOY (so far) ranks #8 255.34.

 

Also, the gap between 2 and 3 on AI is now almost 95 million. This is proof peak positions only tell half the story. And Mars That's What I Like is now almost 15 million ahead of Closer in peak AI, which is very impressive.

Here's the best way I can explains this. Let's pretend that a song is played like this during the first 8 days:

Day 1: 50 spins/plays

Day 2: 50 spins

Day 3: 100 spins

Day 4: 100 spins

Day 5: 150 spins

Day 6: 150 spins

Day 7: 200 spins

 

Day 8: 200 spins

 

Here's what you would see on Day 8:

 

Spins

the number of plays/spins the song received in the last 7 days (Day 1 thru Day 7) would be 800 (add up what I listed for Day 1 thru Day 7). What happens on Day 8 is that the amount of spins from 7 days ago (this would be Day 1) would be subtracted and the amount of spins from Day 8 would be added

So for what i listed it would go like this:

7 days spins (Day 1 thru 8): 800

subtract Day 1: 800 - 50 (Day 1) = 750

add Day 8: 800 - 50 (Day 1) + 200 (Day 8) = 950

 

SO: On Day 8 you would see Spins being 950

 

Spins+

Based on what I explained above, this would simply be the 7 day spin difference. So the song subtraced 50 spins and added 200 spins. So this number on Day 8 would be +150

 

Audience/Audience +-

This works exactly the same way as the spins I explained above, only it's just for the amount of people who listened

 

Bullet/Bullet +-

This basically measures the rate of increase or decrease but it's harder to explain. Basically the higher the number, the faster the song is increasing/gaining spins/ and the lower the number, the faster the song is decreasing/losing spins

Honestly, so many songs are going to peak at #3 or #4 because of "Shape Of You" which is falling very slowly, "That's What I Like" and "Something Just Like This" which are still rising.
