Amazing year for them :clap3:

And that's with Believer sitting still and looking pretty at #7 too. Truly amazing for my Dragons.

In the end of the year, talent always wins.

but Whatever it takes was bad choice for third single and it may end their success for now.

"Don't Know Why" or "Rise Up" is more catchy and dynamiec, should be next singles

Whatever It Takes is doing reasonably well on iTunes + Alt radio + taking off on Hot AC on its own, considering it hasn't gone to adds in any of the Pop formats yet. It was pretty obviously gonna be a single given its warm reception. Give it some time to smash tho. Dragons songs are generally sleepers.

Next single is likely gonna be Walking on Wire for pretty much the same reasons as above. It's the highest ranked non-single on both iTunes and Spotify.

But yea, Rise Up and I Don't Know Why should be options for singles in the next months -- especially the former. It has consistently been on iTunes top 1500 since release and it's one of their 10 most-streamed songs on Spotify right now.

I lowkey hope the era can go deep 'cause I wanna see I'll Make It Up to You be a single. :emofish:

I think despacito could have reached 9M since it's the song with more weeks at #1 in digital songs (15 weeks).. when it was #1 outsells the #2 by at least 50%

In 2012/2013 the #1 easily sold +300k, imagine despacito doing +350k-400k (average) for 15 weeks = 5.2-6M in 15 weeks only :jonny5:

Uptown Funk, which is at 7.85 M+ as it is, would've sold over 10 M, maybe 11 M had it been released two years earlier.  Even in 2015 UF had 7 straight 300k+ weeks.  Neither Happy nor Blurred Lines (which, of course, are falling further and further behind UF), could've come close to that.

Has anyone come up with predictions for Tuesday?  SOY should be #16 on AI Monday, and its airplay won't plummet now that it has its 20 M + audience cushion back at AC.  I think Top 15 for Tuesday and the following Monday, but Top 10 is highly unlikely.

It cannot be a bad choice when it has sold near 200k pure sales without being sent to radios and its music video has one of the most liked rates in history :jonny: It will smash when Radio latches onto it and they perform it (at the Grammys, most likely), so they'll be more than fine, and it was the best single choice they could have made.

Ffff

Rooting for Ed to snatch that #1 with a year old song :beatfreak:

I wonder if Shape of you could jump to the top 10 next week :deadbanana:

The airplay gains are huge too

it's still top20 on Youtube US as well

I’ve heard SOY so much in the past few days. I’m not surprised that it’s surging :rip:

The meltdowns on this forum if Shape Of You was to return number one on Billboard. :lmao:

3. Ed Sheeran - Shape of You   $    0.5363    0.4957

:dies:

Castle coming back for top10 as well

EDIT: Actually a glitch made Thunder disappear from the chart, SOY still #4 and Castle #12

Yeah that's what I was wondering too.... No idea where the sales level was last week.

Those numbers seem a bit high to me :katie:

But thanks :heart2: Having the ratios of the songs to each other is good

let's see what could get boosted by ny rockin' eve; from billboard:

Quote

After a not-so-rockin' performance last year, Mariah Carey is set to return to Time Square and perform this year. Hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy, the annual event will feature performances by “Havana” singer Camila CabelloNick Jonas and Sugarland in New York's Times Square, and a Las Vegas broadcast featuring the queen of pop herself, Britney Spears.

Ciara will be hosting the West Coast countdown, with a star-studded lineup including Alessia Cara, Florida Georgia Line, Halsey, Portugal. The Man, Hailee Steinfeld, Zedd, G-Eazy, Bebe Rexha, Alesso, Kane Brown, BTS, Charlie Puth, Shawn Mendes, Kelly Clarkson, Khalid, and Fitz & The Tantrums.

Down in New Orleans, Lucy Hale will be counting down to 2018, with preferences by bands Imagine Dragons and Walk The Moon.

so t100 songs that could be helped:

havana, never be the same, stay, let me go, meant to be, bad at love, him and i, feel it still, no limit, heaven, what ifs, how long, attention, there's nothing holding me back, love so soft, young dumb and broke, location, 1800, one foot, believer, whatever it takes, thunder
