You're missing the point.

All we're saying is that discounts have a big impact on sales of a song. Unlike certain posters who try to claim otherwise.

I wasn't

and good for WT having chances to go #1 with a discount unlike all these songs

People just need to stop denying discounts effect with some "you aren't forced to buy" bull****.

but you aren't forced to buy a song

just like when stores have discounts/deals on clothes...you aren't forced to buy anything!!!

Sure it does have an effect, depends on a song, as I've said before, Swish Swish was barely in the 70s when it was discounted and some songs went straight to #1 or top 5, 10. But let's not act that's the solo reason the songs are smashing, that's how this discussion started, the user literally wrote down "$ma$hing".

This is all I'm saying.

But don't use "they're not forced to buy the song" as an excuse to proclaim a discount didn't have an effect on the consumer actually purchasing.

who said that lol

anyway nobody is saying these songs are smashing because of the discount (anyway they are hits, not smash). The point was that discount definitely helps and they wouldn't be as high without it. it's not that difficult

I might be wrong here but didn't One Dance smashed even without a video?

I totally forgot it. Actually almost all Drake singles since Views era have smashed without one.

Yep. Even the "flop" Crazy Kids was top twenty in sales with hardly any promo and mediocre airplay.

#13 Kesha - Praying  0.4016

#64 Kesha - Praying 0.1027 0.0983 0.0934

#9 combined. If Camila keeps falling she'll be #8 :duca:

Yeah, songs 2-5 are all discounted. But Body Like A Back Road, without a discount, is just barely out of the Top 5. Today will make Back Road at 176 T 10 days, 8 more than UF, and 182 days/6 months overall since its release. Back Road will hit 6 months in the T 10 next week. Considering Hunt is routinely staying in the Spotify T 20, its streaming and sales are both outstanding. If only Hunt had made a video for the song, given how huge Take Your Time and Break Up In A Small Town were on YT & Vevo.

Bravo to KING of Country - Sam Hunt!  :clap3:

He will have TV performance on CMA Fest on August 16th.   Hopefully it's not too late to be #1 on iTunes.  Seems like songs are getting close to dethroning Despacito, but still not quite.  Maybe TV promo for Sam Hunt will finally get his some extra boost!  :duca:

Kane Brown - What Ifs (feat. Lauren Alaina)

 0.2793

Impressive. Without massive non-country airplay boosting it too. And not even THAT much country airplay either. Overall radio #74 per kworb.

I can see they will discount it in a few weeks once radio start to play it more. Same happened with "In Case You Didn't Know".

The 3B buzz effect is real :jonny3:

Even TV networks here are talking about it

UK:

#20. Miracles (Someone Special)

This has been rising very very nicely thanks to only airplay.

Gonna be huge if they release it in more countries

US:

#15. Feel It Still

#17. Something Just Like This

:clap3: the longevity

Why is The Night Begins to Shine at #69? I found out about it due to Teen Titans Go :lmao:

No. That second version of Despacio always rises during the weekend, think it even went top11 but was blocked from top 10 by the Linkin Park songs.
