It'll climb for a while but it's not going to get very far. Especially with SOY still not having died in a lot of places, despite him releasing another single.

Why is wild thoughts barely holding on to the top 10

Because it already peaked in sales.

Honestly, given Cabello's and Fifth Harmony's mediocre songs' sales performance since the split, Camila and 5 H should've never broken up.

Yeah, songs 2-5 are all discounted. But Body Like A Back Road, without a discount, is just barely out of the Top 5. Today will make Back Road at 176 T 10 days, 8 more than UF, and 182 days/6 months overall since its release. Back Road will hit 6 months in the T 10 next week. Considering Hunt is routinely staying in the Spotify T 20, its streaming and sales are both outstanding. If only Hunt had made a video for the song, given how huge Take Your Time and Break Up In A Small Town were on YT & Vevo.

of course not but that's totally irrelevant

If a song is discounted it gives the consumer more insensitive to buy a song they may not have if it were at full price.

That's such a quite surprising thing, the last song to be such an smash without a music video is "Set Fire to the Ran", although she had the 'Adele name' on it. "Road" is a monster.

I might be wrong here but didn't One Dance smashed even without a video?

I am perfectly aware of that. That person was trying to say the songs are smashing only because of the discounts and that's not true at all.

There are 19 songs currently discounted in the top 100. You are acting like we are in 2013 when Bruno's When I Was Your Man reached #1 only thanks to a discount. Nowdays, the GP is basically used to singles being $0.69 and that's becoming the new standard price.

No idea what Bruno has to do with this lol especially cause Starboy reached #1 thanks to the discount just some months ago

anyway

*lost discount

just some hours and it already lost almost 10 positions. Ironic how fans of artists who often use the discount strategy tend to deny its impact.

Not when the #1 song which broke the record for most weeks at #1 on the HDS selling 100k for 11 weeks straight has never been discounted. :rip:

If the consumer really likes a song they will buy it full price. Aside from being used to reach #1, discounts are used to encourage consumers to buy a song they likely would not have bought had it been full price. Some songs just get more boosts than others mainly due to promotion and other variables.

Not you using the biggest song of the decade as an example :rip:

I agree with that, but I don't see discounts in August 2017 as something negative or as a way to cheat the system. It became a normal thing, that's all I'm trying to say.

y'all were just praying in another thread that WT gets a discount down the line to finally reach #1 overall

this back and forth is pointless

Literally every #1 single of the past twelve months have managed to go #1 on Itunes and remain there for weeks without a discount minus Cheap Thrills.

For what it's worth, I too do not see discounts as a bad thing. But let's not act like discounts don't effect a song's performance.

You're missing the point.

All we're saying is that discounts have a big impact on sales of a song. Unlike certain posters who try to claim otherwise.

I wasn't

and good for WT having chances to go #1 with a discount unlike all these songs

People just need to stop denying discounts effect with some "you aren't forced to buy" bull****.
