I see so it all depends on the song.

found out that  Thats what I like was #90 with 11M audience. Reached top 20 on iTunes when it had 43M audience and now its #1 with 90m audience.

just wanted to know so I can give the gaga fans in the cure thread complaining about its iTunes position some perspective

It's all relative... I mean, Disturbed's "The Sound Of Silence" got to top 20 with less than 10M AI :toofunny2: Imagine Dragons' "Believer" hovered around top 30 with less than 10M AI during its first weeks. Shakira's "Try Everything" went top 20 multiple times with no airplay :rip: "Say You Won't Let Go" stayed inside the top 40 with ~10M AI. Flo Rida's "Cake" is around top 20 with 12M AI.

To summarize, it depends on the song itself, if the song is good and/or catchy, it will keep selling despite low airplay. Take "The Sound Of Silence", "Sail" and "HandClap" as examples. Alternative acts don't receive much airplay, but either way, their singles end up selling really well (see: Death Of a Bachelor's singles and FOB's two last eras singles).

16. Lust For Life. What happened? :cries:

Lana has never done good on digital sales. What is the surprise? :toofunny2:

Literally all her singles get to the top 10 and then plummet into oblivion. I mean, her digital history is well documented on Kworb and Billboard. A little research never killed nobody.

Well, a trendy remix with radio support was an exception, not a pattern for Lana's singles :rip:

Only need radio support.

it was blocked by "Roar"

I have NEVER mentioned that. Obviously I know that CTTR went against a much stronger song like Shape of you. So it couldn't reach 1. Just the same way as applause not going 1 against Roar or Sorry not going 1 while Hello was on top.

Where is this gift from? It literally makes me cackle everytime i see it??

For Country songs, simply reaching the T 50 at Pop without a remix is amazing.

43. Castle on the Hill

Well, this is obviously flopping. Idk someone on Atlantic made the poor decision to release this in the US right now, I hope IT gets fired for the stupidity.

they released this song (which has clearly already run its course) over galway girl (which ive never heard but is clearly smashing around the globe)? mess

Castle on the Hill was overshadowed by Shape of You & they should've left it at that.

But it is...:-*

It's just that Galway Girl doesn't feel like a potential hit in the US :michael:

Anyway Perfect is basically already confirmed as the next single and that is gonna be a hit in the US for sure

and he's gonna tour America meanwhile and could book some promo spots

Lana disagrees

He could discount this and make the single a hit.
