Mmm idk I think she's always been very free, her label Darkroom basically lets her do whatever she wants and that's why she chose them, she seems to have the trust of the label. But It's likely that she's not interested in making droplets anymore and wants to focus on albums. Their approach when making HMHAS was quite different from the previous projects. I hope they try to make the collab with Rihanna and send her a song though It's true! But they didn't have a lot of time together in the studio. Also something else that I know remember. For HMHAS they started hinting at the album and openly talking about it starting from August 2023. Finneas said "the new album is really good" on stage and then in September Billie said in interviews that it was 80-90% done and would be released "soon", only for it to be finished in February (5 months later) and released in May. For now we have zero communication about the new album, so I feel like it's still pretty far but who knows! I can't wait

Billie was with Finneas in LA only 2 or 3 months at most last year because of the tour, considering that she also needed time to rest. Also the way she said "I need to make an album for you" when explaining why the HMHAS tour had to end, suggests that they are still not very advanced in the project ; and Finneas said they would take their time to make a quality album and will not rush it. Also remember that we won't get any single prior to the album and it would come out at least 3 months after they finish it because of vinyl production (for HMHAS, Billie announced that the album was mastered in February). So there's absolutely no way we get new music before this fall. At best, they will finish the album in late spring / early summer for a release in September/October. If they take more time which is not unlikely, they will need to wait for the holiday season to be over and release in 2027. I wish they release a droplet single or a significant collab in the meantime because the wait is long :'(

17 months without any new music from Billie (14 with Guess remix) feels like an eternity, I miss her so bad 😭 What do you guys predict/hope for the next project in termes of genre: still an overall alt-pop sound, more exploration of rock, electronic music, R&B, jazz? She can do anything. I feel like the most natural progression, as she's been using more and more organic instruments and opening up her vocal delivery, would be to further expand on the rock sound. She could make an album drawing from different subgenres of rock (pop rock, alternative rock, soft rock, grunge, new wave) that have an underlying influence on HMHAS (Lunch, BOAF, Wildflower, The Greatest, even a little on BLUE) mixed with a few folk songs as a continuation of Guitar Songs and some parts of HTE. She could also take a more electronic direction following Chihiro, the beginning of Bittersuite, Over Now and Guess. Such a project could include some dream pop / art pop or on the contrary more upbeat synth pop / house / dance pop. However I wouldn't be surprised if she tries R&B next time as it's a genre she seems to love but hasn't tried a lot, also it would make a clear difference with her previous projects. But overall I think the most likely option is that she will stick to an overall alt-pop album blending different genres together like she did with her 3 first albums.

Yes they said they would make music together in LA but she didn't spend so much time there, her breaks from tour were: - 1.5 month between march and april - 2 weeks in May - 2 weeks between june and july - 2 weeks before the Tokyo concert + she certainly took some time to rest bcs tour is exhausting she's not constantly working, it's the point of taking a break from tour, and Finneas is also working on his project with Ashe And for the music made on the road she said that it wasn't serious and she was just making some music with her friends for fun. Now it's not impossible that she uses some of that music for her album. Also we should be used now to billie not being very active on social media, it has been the case for more than 2 years now, she said that it was better for her mental health But i wish what yall are saying is true, one year without any new music is too much, we need her to release something asap 😭

I remember her saying that she agreed with Finneas to stop working on songs during tour because it was too exhausting. And Finneas is not with her during this tour so I don't think she made much progress on new music knowing that she's been on tour almost all the time since HMHAS was released and until november. Also for HMHAS they started to make a lot of progress after they wrote WWIMF in january 2023 so 6 months after the HTE tour was over. They took a lot of time to make their previous albums and once an album is mastered there's a 3-months delay for the vinyl production. If anything they currently have 1 or 2 songs but not more, she's been too busy, unless "when can i hear the next one" was because she had another album or deluxe ready for release and she's waiting for the right time to release it. I'm craving new billie music but sadly I'm not expecting it before Q3 2026 (if they are very inspired and are able to make the entire album in Q1 and Q2 2026, which is unlikely).

It makes no sense to compare the current sales figures of Taylor's first 4 albums, with Billie's albums. - Yall are comparing 15 years of Taylor sales (boosted with the Eras Tour) with 7 to 1 year of Billie sales, it's not fair. If anything you could take Taylor's sales totals from 2012, not her CURRENT numbers when she had much more time to sell units. - There were much more pure sales back then and no artist from the streaming era has ever sold 1M+ units first week in the US. Music consumption has changed and Billie's fan base is younger so less able to buy physical albums. It's obvious that Billie is at least not far from Taylor's success at the time, if she's not bigger. Also HMHAS has got so much public and critical acclaim that I don't see her have another HTE, she's way bigger and well established now than she was in 2020 and I feel like her audience got much larger. So I think her next album could actually see her reach a new commercial peak if the music is still as good. But it will be almost impossible to match Taylor's success in the long run.

It's also the 2nd best selling album of 2024 (ahead of SNS) and the best selling album outside the US ahead of TTPD according to Chartmasters, with no deluxe or bonus versions. BIRDS OF A FEATHER is the biggest female solo song of the decade and one of the biggest songs ever. Her longevity was way better than any other album/song released last year so not peaking at #1 in the US due to some chart manipulation doesn't mean anything. The world is not the US.
