Ed's just about to complete the maths signed titled albums era once he releases 'Subtract' and finishes his world Mathematics Tour but he still had another 5 symbol titled albums planned for the future (those 5 symbols were decided years ago, although not officially announced there are easter eggs, like the 5 maths signs were decided in 2010), and this would be the final album of that series, that's why it was mentioned in the RS interview because the other 4 albums would have already been released over number of years, so fans would be wondering when that 5th album will be finally released, and that 5th album title symbol will then makes sense why it will the last one. Ed's leaving album in his will (not with a record label) so his family/children and fans would find comfort in it if/when released. those special meaning songs haven't all been written yet but can be added to tracklist over a number of years/decades, so guess can be like a time capsule of his life. Guess if Ed dies beforehand, the label can just release some other songs, and UK radio will still play his classic songs in memory, like they do for all successful artists who have passed away. Ed will still release other albums and projects, and not just those 5 albums in that series. Recently Ed's had number of close friends and colleagues who have suddenly died ( + another murdered), and last year his wife had a cancerous growth removed but is fine now, so of course death is currently on his mind, and knows life can be cut short ...

Ed released 5 independent EPS before he was signed to a record label and the collection is called “5”. In 2010 Ed decided to release 5 math signed albums and he also had another 5 albums planned with different symbols, this was all planned years ago, it’s not brand new information or anything to do with Taylor as someone suggested . Ed is on his mathematics tour now for a couple more years, so those 5 albums won’t bs released anytime soon. Just be other side projects in the meantime
