Well I didn't think I'd ever log back in here but here I am lol, I posted the original thread because my jaw dropped when I saw the reddit post of these.
Never in all my years of collecting have I ever seen new sealed vinyl at Goodwill and it pissed me off because of how many vinyl orders I had pushed or cancelled because of this damn album, even friends who make music couldn't get their pressings out on time and felt the impact. Not to mention these get a writeoff for Target/Walmart as a business loss even though small record shops can't get rid of them because they technically own the stock. And since this album came out, there's been a lot of overpresses and the Target-ification of vinyl has definitely lead to it, and no one is immune.
I don't think Adele is sweating this, and "tarnished" was probably the wrong word choice, but I think even people who know nothing about music would see stacks of these at Goodwill and think it isn't a good look for her.
