They really tried to convince others that this was doing better than Havana on Spotify... After the discounts this will probably end up with an even lower number. Even Find U Again which was Mark's 3rd single, released with zero hype, no impact date or music video, debuted with over 2 million official streams so I can't see how people think this is a good start. It doesn't mean it can't become a hit though. She'll probably do much better on YouTube and radio, but truth is on Spotify this isn't doing well.

Yes bc it makes total sense to compare streaming numbers of Aug 2017 to the ones of Aug 2019. You have to be really, really delusional to try to argue that this is doing better than Havana. Havana didn't get a music video upon release, didn't get an impact date on radio until 2 months later, didn't get added to NMF or TTH upon release and it blew up so much on Spotify that it became the first female song to cross the 1 billion mark. If you want to compare Motivation to any song, I promise you Havana ain't it. This was Havana after getting added to TTH. #1 on Global Viral for multiple days in a row. Good luck trying to top that.

Defend your girl all you want but let's not start lying now. Havana and OMG didn't get added to TTH upon release like Motivation. They were released Aug 3rd and added to TTH Aug 9. And only OMG got added to NMF US. You can find tweets from fans asking her manager to add Havana to the main NMF playlist bc it was only added to a Latin version. It did 800k on its first day without 10% of the exposure Motivation is getting now bc her label wanted OMG to be the single instead.

No sweetie, Love Lies didn't chart with those 2 days. It only charted the week starting on Friday so you're just proving my point. The song came out Feb 14th. It didn't manage to debut on last week's chart.

Girl, I'm not talking about peak, if that was the case I'd compare her collab to Bad Things which is a #4 hit or her #1 smash Havana. I answered a question about IKWYDLS' debut and clarified that its debut was with only 2 days of tracking week. And Love Lies couldn't debut with the same 2 days. Y'all are already bragging so much when her solo career barely started, let's see how that works for you when reality kicks in. And for the record I like the song, it's clearly doing well and on its way to become a big hit but her fandom should def stop trying to make her look more successful than anyone else in 5H, it's too soon for that and in my opinion puts a lot of pressure on her.

IKWYDLS would've had a bigger debut if it was released on a Friday for a full tracking week, but they released it on Wednesday so its debut only includes less than 48 hours. It was around the 90s then it jumped 50 spots the following week.
