  7. Who said Taylor didn't win? I was questioning the specific statistics as a logical human being would. Everyone wants to ignore common sense because lord forbid actual logic is used and not twisted to fit whatever narrative makes your fav look the absolute best, not simply 'very good'. Oh yes, her entire adult demographic with actual responsibilities, such as work or parenting, would have 'obviously' bought it the absolute first day out of all days, a day that is to be well over half of her week's sales. According to you, that hint of reality is completely irrelevant because those 2 months worth of preorders did not make one single difference and everyone would have bought it within 24 hours regardless no matter what. Yes, its MY logic that's 'tired' for assuming some of those people may have bought it on the second or third day, right? This is true for every artist, so this isn't even about Taylor herself. But instead, you and just about everyone else in this thread insist that its all about "Taylor won", so me nor anyone else on this planet have any right to question a single thing, or else our logic is 'tired'. Its this type of thinking that allowed Harvey Weinstein get away with as much as he has. How I pray for humanity.
  8. No because going out of your way to go to the theater is different The purpose there is to bypass first come first served. If these preorders were meant to reserve your copy in a retail store, it would be comparable.
  9. You’re just getting deep into semantics now. Whether or not they are allowed to change their minds is irrelevant. It’s the fact that the actual action of going out of their way to purchase it has been made. This argument only works if you insist ALL 400k of those people within the 2 month span that the preorders were made would have gone on iTunes to buy it right away.
  10. No. The second statement is in regard to why there’s no point in mentioning other artists using preorders. I’m only mentioning it here because a detail such as 700k in a day should take into account that over half of that has been stored up for 2 months. Not all of those preorders would have been bought in 24 hours. Not everyone has time for that.
  11. Just saying 1m in 4 days isn’t entirely accurate since it’s influenced by the fact that there were 2 months of awareness and opportunity stacking up for her first week. A lot of those sales may have attributed to her following weeks as many people are too busy to buy it in its first week. Other artists using preorders isn’t relevant in that context unless similar claims are being made regarding specific details like “_____ sold _____ in _____ days”.
  12. Didn’t she have 2 months of preorders giving her a 400k headstart
