Gas prices have always been lower in Texas, so us Texans still feel pain at the gas pump when gas was $2.55 a gallon on average last year and now is currently $3.62 (with it being $3.92 a month ago when early voting started). Michigan was $2.96 last year and $4.46 now. (increase of $1.50) North Carolina was $2.74 last year and $3.38 now. (increase of $0.64) Florida was $2.96 last year and $3.86 now. (increase of $0.90) California was $4.65 last year and $5.88 now. (increase of $1.23) Iowa was $2.72 last year and $3.98 now. (increase of $1.26) And Texas increased overall $1.07 which puts them very much in line with the rest of the country. I'm still not understanding the point that Texas didn't suffer from gas price increases like other states
