  1. Been having complicated feelings about all of this since yesterday and felt like writing some things down just to get it out of my system. I hear a lot of you saying we should listen to venezuelans when talking about what's going on. I saw a lot of venezuelans outside of Venezuela celebrating the fact that the autocrat who's forced them to flee their homeland is OUT and hopefully going to be facing some consequences. I understand that sentiment while still believing Trump is setting a dangerous precedent in using the military to overthrow a foreign leader. Having said that, I haven't seen people inside Venezuela celebrating, the people in my life who live in Venezuela are still cautious, tense and scared. All signs point to the regime not being over. I have seen no talks about freeing the political prisoners or steps to redemocratization; all signs point to the US keeping the illegitimate and repressive regime that has caused so much pain and suffering in place. Every time the topic of Venezuela comes up, I feel so much sadness. Sadness that I can't even conceive of visiting the place I was born in. Sadness to see the place I have so many beautiful memories of as a child become a failed state. Sadness that decades long democratic resistance hasn't been able to foster meaningful change. Sadness that the only glimmer of hope a large part our population could conceive of came in the form of a foreign intervention. Still, I'm hoping against my better judgement that something good comes from all of this.
  2. Finally got into the album! Like it more than Midnights but it took me a while longer to realize I was actually humming the songs when I wasn't even listening Will she ever perform But Daddy I Love Him to a stadium full of Swifties?
  3. It is what it is but what Kim did is no different than what Taylor has been doing her entire career! Give a highly detailed and biased account of a fallout with someone, publicize it via song/interview (or reality show), generate hype for project and come out looking like the wronged party/vindicated in the public eye. The only difference is Taylor is much better at it and had this little PR game mastered by age 18.
  4. So funny that the moment Britney, the person they deemed so incompetent she needed to be put under a conservatorship, gains back control over her finances, they all suddenly start working again. None of them even considered holding down a job for the 13 years the person they alleged to be so fragile and unstable was working a extremely public and high-pressure job to provide for them.
  5. Does anybody have a list of republicans/conservatives with these types of takes - or even more deranged? I'm taking Tuesday off and wanna be entertained. Unless, of course, Dump wins reelection
  6. Although I agree with the sentiment, I don't know if what she's implying (Warren endorsing Sanders -> Sanders wins) is backed up by what happened tonight. I mean, even if all of Lizzie's support went directly to Sanders, she still flopped so bad in some states that her support would't be enough to compensate Sander's deficit. Besides, Biden also has Bloomberg splitting up the moderate lane.
  7. What does Warren do now? Is she really gonna stay until the end?
  8. Far be it from me to defend Hunter Biden, but calling him a cokehead and questioning Biden's parenting skills is beyond the pale Trumpian behavior.
  9. Some people really become unhinged when it comes to elections Kate & Chastity Buttigieg
  10. Have y'all read the TNR piece on Buttigieg? It's so messy and mean-spirited. It also features a 1400 word intro before even getting into Mayor Pete.
  11. Gillibrand needs to stop thinking she has to be relatable/polite to be liked. It's obviously contrived. Stop apologising and embrace the bitch persona. Come out and say **** Al Franken or anyone who defended him.
