  1. Nelly's first album was huge for a new artist that had an indie sound .... it was a very successful breakout era
  2. The video is really cool. The song is....I don't know...so bad? lol I like the production over the "party in..." lines but my gosh what lazy, uninspired writing. It feels like he is trying to do a bit of a Charli impression (I dont really love her music either overall - just not for me). Im a huge Troye fan and loved his last album. Hoping the rest of the releases are a bit more interesting.
  3. I personally think you're overstating the popularity of defund the police. it was not popular with suburbanites who vote democrat, for example. and those candidates did lose. DSA candidates do not have the easy path to victory in those areas. Cities, yes.
  4. Because he is being platformed in the same way that Joe Rogan has by the right. Thats our reality today. Why else do you think El Sayed is trying to separate those comments? You are approaching this seemingly from a defense of your politics, which i agree with, but "defund the police" was indeed not a winning campaign message. Consider the difference between defund the police and the positive ways in which defund ICE has been accepted more mainstream. Why do you think that is? I also believe news orgs should stop interviewing Hasan lol but alas that may be more to your point as to how the corporate strategy is using him.
  5. I dont disagree with the heart of your argument but do we want to be right or effective? Effective communication is at the heart of politics. El Sayed and Mamdani have been extremely effective communicators at the central heart of what Americans care about from multiple perspectives. And they have avoided overextended language
  6. Do you really think the majority of people believe he is correct? lol I hope so but Im not convinced
  7. the problem isnt his ideas as so much as theyre overstated or oversimplified and theyre at a time when we need voters from the center and the left. The left already knows and agrees with what he is saying - the center may be harder to convince or deprogram some of their attitudes about their own country at least right before an election. no one needs to be coddled but media literacy is just not where it should be in the political space. In other words, I support the idea of the US's role in brutality worldwide but i dont think the comparison is useful
  8. I personally find Aint In LA to be rather generic, if not well intentioned lyrically. Nicole Kidman is so good though lol KGB is still my favorite
  9. i feel like we wont get any more singles - and we probably shouldnt. id love for act iii to drop with people yearning for more bey haha
  10. Sorry - of course the support needs to be centered in Palestinian wellbeing. But attacking Jews at random does not help the situation. I truly believe you would see a faster shift among diasporic Jews if there wasn't the constant "Jews control the world" and "Hitler shouldve finished the job" comments that keep popping up in antiZionist forums. Most self-described Zionists dont believe in the term as being related to the destruction of Palestinian life. I get why that seems contradictory - and in real-time we are seeing just how much it may be - but thatll take time. Again, polls are already showing it beginning to shift. I'm not sure if that makes sense - but centuries of pogroms - as well as the Holocaust - has led to a hypervigilence that is still being deconstructed.
  11. which is why its important to see through the smokescreen and support your Jewish community - there is way more of us that do not control any of this lol And while support for the existence of Israel is still in the majority, most diasporic jews do not support the actions in Gaza
  12. Besides how obviously BS this is when it comes to free speech, etc, it is incredibly arrogant of these owners to assume the public will just sit back an take it.
  13. im enjoying this album! nobody dances is a BOP
  14. hm lol this may be one of his first big misses for me. ill reserve until i hear the whole song but ...that snippet is atrocious
