US trip around pride weeks: Recommendations?

Featured Replies

Hi gay!

I will finally see USA for the first time and I planned a vacation aroun June 17-July 5th.

I will be ar NYC around the pride week, and I will see Washington, maybe Boston or Chicago as well, I want to see the Eastern side this time.

Any recommendations?

As this will probably be a once in alife time experience, Im open to try anything, including nasty parties. As atrl is full of 30+ gays at the moment, Im sure you will not **** shame me lol. Teenagers out :gtfo:

I saw some parties in NyC like Brüt or MEAt but I havent tried anything like these but I am open to.

Is there anyone experienced?

There is a crazy gay party at the Metropolitan Museum of Art called CULTURED HOE where you go and look at art for a few hours, and then leave feeling cultured. It's very gay because some of the artists might have been gay. I also recommend the hardcore gay party called NOGUCHI ****, where you visit the Noguchi Museum in Queens and appreciate the sculptures, the beautiful Japanese sculpture garden, and then leave. A 10/10 gay weekend in NYC!

ahaha. these are also okay, I have 7 days in the city, and I do not have much plans for the mornings as well. thanks

my recommendation when visiting that country is to always be aware of your environment, always keep an eye on the nearest (emergency) exit, and to always make sure you know the next clear getaway route/object to hide behind or under when in large crowds of people.

well this was a bit scary chick2

A few suggestions

NYC: Manhattan is cool, the main gay scene. Hells Kitchen has a bunch of gay clubs, so just make a list and hop around and see what vibe you like. West village as well but I've heard straights are gentrifying that area... If you want to check out grimier dance clubs/bars/warehouse raves check out Brooklyn which has more queer/poc adjacent.

Use transit app to plan accordingly if you go deep into Brookyln and plan on staying there past midnight. Sometimes the subway trains take over 40 minutes to arrive, it's awful.

Lodgeny has a telegram channel with a bunch of random s*x parties. I don't participate in them but it's something I have in my backpocket in case i'm feeling that way. nycgaybros subreddit may give you better leads for s*x events; use the search there

Regarding Boston, I've heard that Providence in Rhode Island has a far better gay scene. They even have bathhouses (like eagles nest)....I've not been there but it's something that came up once when I was researching what to do as a gay in Boston when I arrived to see Lana, and people kept saying "just go to Providence".

So there's that. Lol. If it helps it's a 35ish minute Amtrak ride from Boston, so perhaps you can schedule by visiting for a couple of days or something.

Can't answer for the other cities.

Since you'll be in NY I recommend taking a trip out to fire island to visit Cherry Grove and/or The Pines. You can take the train from NYC to get to the ferry terminal to get over to the island. Cherry Grove and The Pines are gay summer hot spots. There's a little something for everyone there whether it just be hanging by the beach, drinking, hiking, drag shows, dancing, or parties that cater towards a more sexual nature.

If you're interested just DM me and I can tell you more or answer any questions about it. I've been visiting the island since I was a kid and I worked there the last couple of summers.

Oh yay! Let me know if it happens and I can let you know anything that's going on when you're visiting.

You should try to go to Basement while you're in NY

See if they're doing the party "bound" I know they did it around pride last time I went

And definitely go to the parade and hang out in west village it'll be fun

Sounds like you'll be in NYC around this time, but Chicago has a Pride Fest over June 19-21 weekend, centered around a street festival in Boystown with free concerts, drag, food vendors etc. There are also a ton of queer parties over that weekend + the following (actual pride parade) weekend. If you end up coming here, send a PM and I'll give you some recommendations.

Hell's Kitchen will be annoyingly packed

I recommend West Village more

Check out the Brooklyn and Queens gay bar scenes though!
