My God, I was sad when I heard the news, but I thought the life expectancy would be way longer. Hope his loved ones stay strong through this.

Sad. And scary.

I thought it was one of those illness that you can live with if you have the right therapy. 

No it's rare to survive past 5 years after diagnosis (you have like a 1 in 10 chance to live more than 5 years).

It's super tragic and most of the time it results in death due to respiratory failure since the nerves and muscles that control breathing deteriorate and you physically cannot move your diaphragm it's legit described as your own body becoming a living prison that you can't control 

 

This is horrible. 

I've been a fan of him since he was in Charmed. :/
