Hopefully it's RED FLAG. or LOVE FOREVER. :jonny6:

watch it be GLOW.

This is... sad. Crush were amazing because it was a boutique management company so they could focus on every artists and they were great with Spotify. The new management is much bigger with mostly small alternative acts (and Sabrina Carpenter). I wonder what happened.

It seems Kesha signed with a new management company :rip:.

Absolutely shocked tbh. @bearman Thoughts?

Edit: You beat me to it.

The new management is kinda giving Vector :suburban:

Crush was so good and they managed to make her brand cool again. Maybe the financial terms weren't great? I don't have a good feeling about this, I'm afraid. The other pop artists they have are Sabrina, Marina and Haim.

It looks very much like it was her wish. Crush was teasing so many upcoming projects from her, I don't think they had a fallout.

To me, it looks like her priorities shifted a bit.

Crush is specialized on organizing comebacks for struggling established artists. Red Light is seemingly more focused on managing legacy artists with strong touring power.

My personal theory is that she was initially looking for a mainstream comeback when she signed with Crush. That didn't really materialize besides Period's decent debut week, meanwhile the tour exceeded expectations by a huge margin.

I guess she was looking for a company that fits better to this kind of profile.

A little bit, yeah. Though they are much bigger and have Sabrina Carpenter.

Yeah, I don't really know what to think of this and am very curious about her reasoning.

I don't know, Crush also manages huge legacy artists like Green Day and it's not like the other pop stars at Crush were setting the charts on fire. Maybe her manager left Crush? I don't know it just seems like a bad idea to leave your team when things finally started picking up.

It's all very weird indeed. Let's wait for some press release or official confirmation with more info.

Edit: @bearman did some more research which kinda supports my theory that her focus shifted towards touring.

Red Light's founder presents touring as their main priority in every article. He always talks about live music, tours and festivals in every interview.

According to Wikipedia, he owns/has shares in lots of different concert venues.

Hmmm, honestly, I'm not mad.

Crush didn't know how to manage her. They kinda blew every opportunity they had with Period and it's rollout in terms of the singles, releases, promo, etc. They did an EXCELLENT job re-establishing her as a mainstream pop act using social and traditional media channels (which I would honestly attribute more to her PR people than her management) and securing a decent debut week for Period (especially with the vinyls and variants) but beyond that, everything else felt half-assed and missing the mark. Also, iirc one of the insiders here confirmed that it felt like somebody was intentionally trying to **** with her releases and rollout, leaks, etc. I'm guessing that's part of it.

I wonder if this leaves things in limbo... it seems she had a few ongoing projects with Crush and is filming a music video (? not sure how old that VALUS interview is tho) so it seems weird to leave when like @bearman said things were going OK, if not pretty good.

That said, I'll be disappointed if she completely abandons any hope of mainstream success and cements herself as a legacy act. I truly, TRULY believe she has at least one big album left in her with a hit song. Then again, maybe she's just focused on making money, which, work, but I'll have a hard time being as invested if everything feels like a cash grab and she only tours and promos SMASH from now on.

What kind of opportunities do you think they wasted?

Interesting point, I haven't thought about this yet.

That was my first thought upon doing some research, but honestly, I have no clue either what her motives are. I hope we'll get some more info soon, there still isn't any news on this and she's still on Crush's website.

I really don't think that will ever happen, that's not the kind of person and artist she is.

The JOYRIDE hype was completely wasted and there's zero justification or excuses for it on a management level.

Dropping Delusional in the middle of the Xmas/winter freeze as the follow up single after months of radio silence.

Failing to capitalize on YKY's viral hype. Even though I don't love the song it had genuine summer hit potential.

Failing to secure strong Spotify playlisting for Red Flag during release week and in the weeks following, not pushing Red Flag as a single.

Rush releasing ATTENTION! right after BOY CRAZY with no clear strategy when, again, it had genuine hit and viral potential.

Failing to secure major festival booking slots for her this year bar a few guest appearances.

Zero mainstream award show presence while in the middle of an active era.

Putting the seal of approval on improperly mixed and mastered recordings (Delusional, YKY, the BOY CRAZY remix with Jade).

There was SO much goodwill after the success of JOYRIDE and Crush just squandered it. Luckily the T!TS OUT tour kinda capitalized on the whole Kesha summer thing but Crush had a literal golden egg in front of them with this era and they really did not deliver what they could have. They did GOOD, which is fine, but not great.

The problem is that the woman managing her only has experience managing D-list country acts with zero pop credentials to her name. I just don't get what's the angle here but it's giving Vector 2.0.

I still think a lot of the messy decisions these past two years were also coming from her. Crush did amazing considering the state of her career post-Gag Order. They did miracles for her Spotify stats. It was also great having a homosexual managing her instead of a country manager and that helped her a lot in finally catering to her target audience.

She also has no label so changing your management two years into a new deaa is weird.

Yeah, I also noticed this. I really wonder what the thought process behind this is.

I thought this was fake since the Animals on my TL always spread messy fake news ie her headlining the superbowl

Maybe she wasn't satisfied with Crush. Here for her next adventure hihi.

i dont see kesha in the Red Light roster

I agree with @gettsleazy, period era had a lot of missed opportunities and felt very messy at times. But on the other hand, as @bearman stated, I feel like she also have some responsability on this matter. Sometimes I feel she needs some help organizing her ideas so they're not all over the place.
