Nowadays, many female rappers appear on my Spotify whose songs remind me of Azealia Banks'.

 

e.g.:

 

Nicki Minaj might be the reason that female rappers can have success in today's mainstream music, but when it comes to music direction and style, I feel Azealia's impact.

This gif is very impactful imo

Hip hop and dance music have always gone hand-in-hand. Azealia didn't invent house music nor was she the first person to rap over it.

Yes. People in this thread keep talking about dance and house which yes Azealia does, but what female rap songs have you heard using industrial beats like Heavy Metal & Reflective and Yung Rapunxel

look at her latest tour. No budget no dancers, no visuals, barely a DJ, recycled outfits, and she commands the stage and the whole crowd is HYPE

doechii is clearly very inspired by azealia

She's done quite a lot to inspire better funding for our mental health services. I applaud her for that.

AB is influential in every aspect of pop culture. 
 

And nobody claimed she invented or started anything. But she definitely brought it back to the forefront when everyone was busy singing and rapping over David Guetta beats. She's on everyone's mood board 

 

I know some geriatric female rappers love to claim they made inches a thing but Banks has been calling herself Yung Rapunxel since 2010 while some folks were wearing party city wigs and Gaga's leftover hair dye solution
