It's not an album as you were asking but the first song I thought of is beyonce's who runs the world. It basically flopped at the time it was released but somehow feels kinda popular to the gp. 

Glitter is the most iconic flop of all time. 
 

Going from Rainbow to Glitter was just so groundbreaking.
