At least somebody is holding it down for this classic

ATRL is relating more to the cherry lip-pouting, flower petal-pulling, daisy field-picking, new ride-looking skank, I fear

Okay, putting this together now. The amount of classics that missed out for second-tier pop girl tracks...

Any duplicate artists? I think limiting to one per is fair and maybe best for some flavor.

That might have been a useful rule for the Swifties. But since I didn't specify that in the beginning, I don't feel like I can impose it now. Fortunately no one has more than two in the final draw.

Thank you to everyone who submitted nominations for ATRL March Madness this year! The more than three dozen ballots encompassed an eclectic range of #2 hits charting across six decades of the Billboard Hot 100...though, let's be real, pop divas ruled the day.

The overall top entry is no surprise: Kelly Clarkson's beloved 2005 smash "Since U Been Gone," which received 13 votes. It is followed by Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" (always the bridesmaid!), Missy Elliott's "Work It" and Madonna's "Frozen" as the #1 seeds in their respective regions.

As usual, the draw is heavily weighted toward women, though about a quarter of the entries are led by male artists and another eight feature men as band members or guest rappers. Madonna leads the field with three entries, while Dua Lipa, Elton John, Gwen Stefani, Missy Elliott, Prince and the Revolution, and Taylor Swift have two apiece, including features. Beyoncé appears both as a solo act and with Destiny's Child. Qualifying tracks come from as far back as 1963, with The Ronette's iconic "Be My Baby" and Lesley Gore's feminist anthem "You Don't Own Me," and as recently as 2021, when Dua Lipa's "Levitating" finished as the top song of the year despite never reaching the summit.

Now, without further ado, a look at the 64 runners-up that will compete for a shot at redemption:

We deserved a Frozen vs It's All Coming Back To Me Now finale but only one of the two will be able to get there. :!ohno:

Taste will come through and “I Love You Always Forever” will win the Madonna Division.
