Fun and interesting! Much more so than anything else she's done recently, this has me excited for the album.

Final product is quite good, it's just that her and her "team" take the fun out of everything.

 

the song itself missed a final punch towards the end, but it's fine. Much more interesting than the 1:59 song.

 I enjoy the track, but it's not really single material and could have benefited from a feature. Personally, I prefer 1:59 over Candy Paint. Neither song works as a traditional single, but I'm just glad we're getting new music. As fans, there's only so much we can do. If Normani doesn't want to perform or promote her music, that's her and her team's decision. One of her biggest strengths is delivering captivating performances with avant-garde choreography, high production value, and top-tier music videos. If she and her team don't recognise the importance of releasing these alongside her music, then that's really concerning.
