Voted for Xtina by accident. Alicia for sure. More hits, more global, and better music

Interesting comparison.

I think Xtina is the undisputed winner when it comes to impact. However when it comes down to classics and overall career I'd say they're very very similar, though I'd give the edge to Alicia. She had a nice run between 2001 and 2008/9. And Girl On Fire as an album did fairly ok and produced one hit back in 2012 which is something Xtine sadly failed to achieve in the 2010s (as a solo artist, anyway). But I feel that these days their careers are on the same level back again. HERE, Alicia and Keys have all failed to match Liberation in terms of sales but it's not that a 50k difference is a something to boast about anyway. :gaycat6:

Daily streams of their top 5 biggest hits on Spotify:

* Moves Like Jagger (featuring Christina Aguilera) - 885,809

* Empire State Of Mind (featuring Alicia Keys) - 654,798

If I Ain't Got You - 455,253

Girl on Fire - 337,233

My Boo (with Alicia Keys) - 330,596

* Feel This Moment (featuring Christina Aguilera) - 322,207

No One - 322,032

* Say Something (featuring Christina Aguilera) - 282,218

* Lady Marmalade (featuring Christina Aguilera) - 187,972

Genie In a Bottle - 160,256

Alicia has the bigger classics easily. Christina's hits are carried by her collabs nowadays.

Total daily streams

Alicia = 2.2M daily (3.43M with collabs)

Xtina = 1.6M daily (3.24M with collabs)

For career, i picked Xtina. I think for now she has the bigger peak and is more of a name.

classics is a no contest to Alicia. Xtina's own catalogue is beyond forgotten, alicia is more acclaimed too. For me ballads do so much for our MPG on Spotif,y and xtina's are so tragic the streams. beautiful and hurt should be doing way more daily streams.

Impact?
Very close, i picked xtina. Again she just feels the bigger star.

one day maybe alicia could over-take xtina, if she can put out another hit cause she was way more consistent

Lowkey think this comparison makes more sense than Xtina vs Avril comparisons.

Bigger classics: I'd give this to Alicia.

Bigger Career: Music-wise in the US, probably Alicia. Xtina might have the edge WW. As a celebrity, I feel like Xtina is bigger.

More impact: Imo Christina wins this mainly because pop music had a bigger audience than r&b during their peaks.

I'm really doing my own fave dirty here but although Xtina is more talented vocally, Alicia's songwriting & piano skills might put her above Xtina here imo.

I agree, but still vocal>>>>

And in my opinion, Xtina's lyrics are better, but that's a subjective opinion.

Both queens of their respective niches. We love them both.

Alicia's solo songs do great :clap3:

If I Aint Got You

Girl on Fire

No One

Alicia had an insane 5 album run all the way until 2012 with Girl On Fire

Not to mention all the critical acclaim she gets

And she's an R&B icon

I voted for Alicia Keys whose name is still famous nowadays.

Her classics no question. Look at her Spotify top 5, it’s better than Bey’s let alone Xtina’s  :gaycat6: BALLADS ALWAYS WIN!

this. alicia has a bigger career and better discography, but xtina will always be the bigger pop icon

Christina had the bigger career, but when an Alicia song had a global hit on her hands it was a smash hit. Hence she has the bigger classics.

For impact I'm somewhat on the fence, both have no huge impact like Britney or Gaga or Beyoncé but still inspired numerous artists that came after them. I voted Christina, but it could've been Alicia just as well.

1) Career: Alicia Keys.

The fact that Alicia Keys has sold more albums overall, both in the U.S and WW, than Aguilera, despite being an R&B/Neo-Soul act, is a testament to the crossover power that Keys possessed in the 2000’s.

The only other female acts that sold more pure albums than Keys between 2000-2009 in the U.S is Britney Spears and Norah Jones. Worldwide, Hikaru Utada and Ayumi Hamasaki would be the other two.

Keys has also sold more singles (Digitally), has attained more prestigious industry awards and is vastly more acclaimed as an artist.

2) Classics: Alicia Keys.

All one has to do is look at the recurrent streams for both artists and you will see that Keys clearly has the bigger classics, whether as a lead or solo artist.

3) Impact: Christina Aguilera.

Aguilera’s celebrity and appeal was always bigger and broader, most of this due to the fact that she was/is a Pop star. Her image has been far more influential than Keys’ ever has and “Stripped” is a defining ‘coming-of-age’ Pop album that has inspired a lot of other female acts. Aguilera is also more influential as a singer.

Xtina for all because I am looking it from a global perspective. The Heavenly Keys and XXXtina are both legends and I lobe them both.

I agree with most of this but regarding sales, it's a toss up. AKeys has sold slightly more albums but Xtina has sold slightly more records overall making their totals closer than you think. You're spot on about everything else though.
