...that exactly 10 years after Beys Super Bowl Halftime, now Rihanna (the biggest "rival" of her career) does it?

 

It is not only that they have been put against each other nearly all their careers (or since Rihanna showed up to the scene), but also that this time Rihanna is kind of in the similar situation Beyonce was in 10 years ago:

 

• the Superbowl HS was Beyonces big return after her first pregnancy, just like Rihanna
• it was her anticipated return to music, even though her break between eras wasn't as long as Rihs now
• everyone expected new music from Bey, which she didn't really deliver until about a year later; Rihanna really has no new album on the horizon at all and will unlikely perform new music as well
• Self-Titled was a very important era for Bey and was kind of make or break, the same thing Rihanna is probably afraid of after being away from the music industry for nearly a decade now

 

Also I cannot put the Bey performance in here, because NFL prohibits its content to be displayed on this site, the homophobia jumped out...

it is pretty funny to think about yes. I dont think we will ever witness a rivalry a la Bey vs Rih ever. Its the pop girl variant of Cristiano vs Messi. Seeing them both reach new heights later down the line and achieving big successes in different lanes is very satisfying. I wonder if Rihanna will continue her musical progression after ANTI as well. She seemed to only make better music every year since her debut

I don’t believe they’re comparable as artists, despite their career parallels, they’re very different. 
 

Rih is also under Roc Nation, her musical success & waves partly = Jay&Bey’s success & waves.
