The post-chorus was stuck in my brain this morning. I want a Fan Demanded Version with a key change that gives it the much needed oomph. :gaycat6:

This is catchy, I got myself singing the chorus last nights even when I wasn't playing. I still think it's not as good as MS tho.

? It’s about to surpass Kill Bill in views within half a day and Apple Music is heavily weighted towards Rap/Hip-Hop audiences. Please refrain from cluttering this thread with silly ‘analytical and data’ takes.

I’m guessing 3-4M WW Spotify.

Doesn't sound like a hit to me but it does sound like a great song. She just never misses.

Morning-after thoughts:

This is definitely the kind of song that I wouldn’t bother listening to more than once or twice if Miley wasn’t singing it.

BUT since I’ve been a Miley stan since the Hannah days, and I’m probably on play #30 - I am finding there’s something unique about it in her discography. Even if it’s likely an attempt to get a hit, it’s her first release in a while that doesn’t seem to be about forging a specific, new identity. Songs like Can’t Be Tamed, We Can’t Stop, Dooo It, Mother’s Daughter, and Midnight Sky are all in effect saying the same thing: this is who I am, you can’t control me. The majority of her career has been spent building that narrative. And while Flowers is also about self-empowerment, it doesn’t seem to be in a grand, “look at me” sort of way. It’s effortlessly cool. So I appreciate it as a sign of growth and as a vibe.

One minor critique of the video: while simple was definitely the way to go for this song, they could have made it prettier on the eyes by filling the house and yard full of flowers - and even camped it up by having Miley put flowers in her hair, on her outfit, etc. But that’s a personal preference, and I like the overall vision they executed.

her voice is just PERFECT for this type of sound, I love it, I agree that it's very Younger Now but to me that's a good thing

it just sounds so carefree and nostalgic, similar to Malibu and Malibu to me is one of her best songs

Although I feel like it's definite hit material, I agree that it feels like a coming-of-age song seeing as she just turned 30 and it's probably one of the more mature songs that she's ever put out. She's effortlessly sexy in the video too without being over the top with it. I love it.

Love this :heart2: Post chorus is the best part, with the Bruno sample being questionable, but whatever.

ATRL trying to critique this for being 'bland' when all it takes for this forum to be impressed is Ava Max choking and gargling over a dumpster fried synth (made in a German motel). :rip: This forum has laughed at her for 10 years that she's a huge panned has-been and the second she tries to go for success in a redeemable way, it's still criticized. Actual signs of brain leakage.

Anyways, hoping for a decent Spotify debut + omg she's really pretty

Both this and all of Ava’s music are bland and frankly boring. At least Mikey’s voice has some character though.

I like the song Miley teased on her IG with the heavy synths and spoken word parts. Hoping the albums more in that vein than this

:bibliahh:  damn

Ot: even if some don't like the song, it seems like a great intro to the era and her being on a new label. I'm sure she'll have more uptempo songs on the album anyway

It’s cute but forgettable. Hopefully it’s just a teaser single.

And Lana has moaned about vineyards, summer breezes, and random villages she found on Google maps her entire career. The standard/expectation changes when people review an artist that isn’t their fave is so.. :rip:

Miley is the absolute last person this place should be calling boring (even now) when it’s a shock she didn’t completely reinvent herself this time.

Lana hasn’t done anything interesting since NFR wbk, but Miley hasn’t since Dead Petz in my opinion. SIC and Plastic Hearts were fine and pleasant though. That’s just my opinion, you’re more than welcome to have your own

this song is so boring. its not necessarily bland, it just gives female maroon 5. it’s a huge contrast from her insane vocal performance on all of plastic hearts. maybe next song will be the smasha

((lets see how long before i get told that im tasteless 🫣))
