It's always this SAME delulu Mariah stan searching for these tweets and perpetuating this fan fiction even though it's been debunked 20x times on here. His obsession with Jennifer Lopez is scary and embarrassing. :skull:

LOL @ everyone else. Most people live in the real world and they definitely don't know about the Mariah GIF or care about this fan fiction. :skull:

Did you even watch the Tiktok video? He's perpetuating the same fan fiction you love posting. You should be thanking him. :rip:

Please stick to facts. It is definitely not true. Jennifer "sings" (basically talks) the two verses of Jenny from the Block and is also on the hook COMBINED WITH Natasha Ramos, the credited backup singer. Even Natasha herself confirms that laid down the vocals for the song:

The idea that her vocals are "non-existent" is completed misleading, especially for the song in question. The actual issue here is that Natasha's background vocal actually carries and is basically lead on the chorus/hook because Jennifer's vocals are so weak, but like @Both Sides Now already implied, nobody actually believes J.Lo is some powerhouse vocalist so it's non-issue. It's just the usual suspects (like the delulu OP) who has to warp the reality to turn it into an issue because of some weird grudge and obsession with J.Lo (due to victim narrative they perpetuate pretending that "skinny" lady they stan is some scorned and wrong woman). It's sad and disturbing.

Here are actual examples of songs where the hook/chorus has no Jennifer at all:

- Play

- I'm Gonna Be Alright

- Ain't It Funny (the original, not the Murder remix)

I mean, now you’re misquoting me. I said her vocals are “basically non-existent” in some songs which is true for the chorus and ad-libs of Jenny From The Block (the only vocal in the song). I don’t know how many vocal layers are on top of Jennifer’s vocals but they are basically non-existent. The point was that they played them off as Jenny’s vocals.

I think there are two different types of heavy use of ghost vocalists:

A. Where background vocals are pretty apparent, and not played off as the lead vocalist. For example, the chorus here features multiple layers vocals (in fact, some are Max Martin) but it’s pretty clear which vocal is Britney’s, and it’s clearly the lead:

No need for a feature here.

B. There are whole sections of the song that have a ghost vocalist. The lead singer even lip-syncs to the vocals. They are clearly insinuating the vocals belong to the lead artist.

I think most people would agree that Ester Dean would warrant a feature here. She sings the whole chorus. Maybe there is a Nicki layer in there somewhere but it’s not super apparent to me on multiple listens.

The fact is that the majority of the JLo’s ghost vocals fall into category B. The vocals are made to appear to be Jenny singing them. And even if there is a layer of Jenny's vocals in the mix, they are carried by the background vocalist. It feels dishonest. Very few artists do this.

I think we both understand it would be a bad move image-wise to admit that JLo isn’t carrying the vocals in some of her songs and that’s why they didn’t do it. Again, it feels dishonest. Let’s not pretend it wouldn’t be a bad PR move for it to be Play (featuring Christina Milian).

Still, these women could’ve used the exposure of being the hook girl on a #1 song.

"Basically non-existent" to me implies that they don't exist. In this example, they're definitely there. Again, the issue with Jenny from the Block is the BGV on the hook/chorus by Natasha Ramos is essentially lead because they completely overpower Jennifer's whisper/talk vocals. She carries the chorus while Jennifer is just mumble whispering in the background. Calling them "ghost vocals" is also misleading since they're credited every situation here. The use of the word "ghost" explicitly means they're uncredited. These people are credited.

The actual valid issue that I think you're trying to argue is that Natasha in this case (along with Ester Dean, Julia Michaels, Cathy Dennis, etc.) and all these "backup" singers are basically singing lead on the actual meaty parts of the song, which is odd. We already know why. The actual performers here are not vocalists. More importantly, a lot of people will argue they deserve an actual artist credit, not background credits. But that goes beyond image and PR issues. The songs sold with the names Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez, Rihanna, Britney Spears, etc. The industry machine is not going to be able to sell the songs with unknowns credited. I guess the final argument here would be deception; I'm sure there are some people who actually thought these the vocally challenged pop stars are really carrying these hooks and are surprised that they aren't, but that's arguable. Even back in the day, reviews of songs like Love Don't Cost a Thing reference a "a bunch of young girls singing 'even if you were broke, my love don't cost a thing"... so it was obvious from Day 1 that multiple were singing that hook and all her early hooks. And for songs like I'm Gonna Be Alright, the hook girl sounds like a completely different person:

FYI - Nicki does not sing the hook of Super Bass at all. As for Britney, what you mentioned about Crazy is applicable to her all Max Martin productions from her first albums (Baby One More Time, Sometimes, Crazy, Born to Make You Happy, Oops, Stronger, Lucky, Anticipating, etc.). There's actually at least 3 people singing the chorus together and Nada Hedin carries the hooks in a lot of those songs IMO.

I don’t even care for JLo but how lame, corny, cringe, etc

I honestly feel like JLo should speak on this issue, since it's a false narrative and people are seriously trying to ruin her image with it. People must be dumb if they truly think that she didn't sing in her own songs at all :rip:

JLo sis I know it's good to be unbothered, but not this unbothered :skull: Like she simply just doesn't care at all :rip:

What does any of that have to do with what I said :deadbanana4:
