OctaHate: Appreciation Thread

Probably one of the most underrated and best pop songs of last decade.

There's something so unique, captivating and interesting on this song. Sonically is amazing and so well done. Lyrically is beautiful and intriguing.

What went wrong? Why didn't it become in a smash? GP being tasteless as per usual?

Anyways in the meantime, let's remember and appreciate this absolute gem. :heart2:

I wonder what happened to her, she was a very promising artist with her first EP, but the full album was lowkey underwhelming, except for some highs.

omg i forgot all about her and this song, it's so amazing, what a throwback

deserved number one everywhere

i remember reading an article when i was super young about her and allie x when they first came out and how the new wave of singers with big label backing are going to pretend to be diy/bedroom/unsigned artists when they really have a label push behind them and that's what happened with so many artists during the 2010s :clap3: ahead of the times

It’s pretty known in alternative pop circles tho she was heavily compared to Charli XCX. Also sounds a lot like Neon Hitch to me who the producer Benny Blanco also worked with on Ass Back Home, F U Betta, and Gold.

I do love something about this song but there are way better, honestly.

Charli penned this song i believe, so it definitely didn't help those comparisons.

one of charli's best pop songs though

mental illness & addiction. i know ppl who know her. she's been struggling for a while now.

I prefer its sister Same Old Love. Charli made that smash. :gayalipacat5:

Oh, that sucks, sorry to read that. Hope she's healing.

And yeah, you're right, but there's something about the first video that I LOVE, it's genuine and it works perfectly.

I still remember discovering this on Soundcloud in my junior year of high school. Sooo so good and nostalgic for me.

queen… need a new album from her, she deserved to be the indie pop queen she never could be :cries:
