I actually feel that way about Ellie too. With her debut I was a huge stan and everything after that just didn't do it the same for me. I reconnected with Brightest Blue and then I disconnected again. 

The way she tried to gag every gay possible with Higher Than Heaven. Everything felt so forced

Being an ava max stan on twitter in 2019-2020 was tough. No one believed in her. I relied on that shitty cover of hers where she was doing "whistle note" to prove to everyone that she had talent

it's better, well I don't stan her anymore because her recent output has been abysmal but she has more classics to her name now.

 

Also her touring for this album is..a choice. I don't even see the album being released tbh

Oh, I loved that album... I hadn't listened to anything by Ellie since Halcyon, which I hated, but I saw an ad on social media of her statement that the new album was her "least personal project yet" and I thought, "Wow, maybe I'll like it this time then!"

It's not anything groundbreaking, just some cute nu-disco tracks that scratch that itch for me 

Pandering to gays with bops is one thing, but with pictures... Might be the end of the line for me.
