A big hank you to everyone who participated and joined the reveals! The second part of the rate was always going to be an uphill battle, and I wonder if something else could've been done to encourage more people to participate like using the old thread, but what's done is done. The budget thing is a bit of a joke since making gifs is actually more effortful that what I did for the first part, and I was going to try that regardless of the number of the participants. The rate's done well considering the circumstances, I think. 

 

For what's next, the Showa rate is probably happening in July/August. I want to emphasize that it's a Showa idol rate for those who debuted during the era (though it will include the songs released later), so you won't be seeing singer-songwriters like Mariya Takeuchi or other city pop artists, that will require another rate. Still, there may be city pop songs in the rate. The approximate list of the artists is:

Akina Nakamori
Shizuka Kudo
Kyoko Koizumi
Miho Nakayama
Chisato Moritaka
Momoko Kikuchi
There will be a couple of one-off songs from other idols like Dancing Hero. It'd be lovely to include Momoe Yamaguchi, but her stuff is still region-locked.

I'm only familiar with Akina and Momoe atm and I haven't listen to all of their studio albums yet (there are too many) but I'd like to get to know more of the other ladies too

Surprised a ballada won since Kumi is mostly known for her slutty pop bangers, especially internationally, but I'm not mad. Deja Vu is kinda underrated (although it was clearly in the top 2 albums from this rate since the beginning) and its nice to see it being given its flowers.
